Dennis positive for Brazilian GP

Both Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard retired from the race with engine problems.

The race was won by championship rivals Ferrari, with Michael Schumacher finishing ahead of team-mate Rubens Barrichello.

Dennis told the Independent: "This is an understandably disappointing outcome to a race that we were controlling from the front.

"We can at least be positive about the fact that the failures we experienced in the race are the same as those in practice, which means it should not be particularly difficult to find a solution as it is an area where we have never incurred a problem before.

"As is obvious, we are quick enough to win.

"We were conserving the fuel because Mika and David Coulthard were very happy with their cars, but as always in racing, to finish first, first you have to finish."

The team will hope to score its first points of 2000 at the Brazilian Grand Prix on March 26.

Dennis also quashed remarks made by Michael Schumacher that his Ferrari was unbeatable.

"What Michael is saying is absolute rubbish," he told The Sun newspaper.

"His strategy has always been to try and gain some sort of psychological advantage but the facts don't bear out what he is saying.

"He appeared not to be bothered about being pushed into third place by our cars during qualifying but I know that behind the scenes he was very upset.

"And if he is trying to say that he was faster than our boys in the race he is kidding himself."
