Care needed on Magny-Cours kerbs?
Drivers have been warned that the Magny-Cours kerbing could cause problems in wet weather this weekend
The track has a revised layout for the French GP this year and it is believed that the FIA requested that all the kerbing be treated with a special abrasive paint to make them less slippery. This has not been done, however, and with almost 9kms of kerbing (inner and outer) on the track, drivers have been told that nothing can be done about it this year.
On the subject of the circuit changes, Renault's Jarno Trulli commented: "They have done quite a good job. They've basically changed the last part of the lap and introduced two hairpins - probably a very slow speed corner, like first gear, and a chicane.
"It's difficult to say whether we can have any overtaking opportunities, but it looks like before the last chicane we might have some opportunity under braking. We will just have to wait and see. It's too early to say until we can are out there and can get a clearer idea."
