Bridgestone have advantage, claims Ralf

Ralf Schumacher believes that the cool conditions in qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix helped Ferrari to claim the top two places on the grid. The German, who will start from third in his Michelin-shod Williams reckons Ferrari's advantage may not be as great as it appears

"Last year in these conditions when ground temperatures are pretty low we are not as good as the Bridgestones are so that helps them [Ferrari] for sure," he said. "It looked worse yesterday, although they could have gone a lot faster than they actually did today, but there is a gap and it's surprising if you consider they came with the old car and they're still so far ahead of everyone. There's still a lot of room to improve on our side, so we'll see."

The German could not resist taking a swipe at team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya, who he accused of failing to take care of his brakes, which resulted in them catching fire in the pitlane after a run in free practice.

"We have high brake temperatures and I think other teams do too," he argued. "Juan didn't cool the brakes enough before he came back in - that's why they caught on fire basically."
