BMW to Decide on Future Next Month

BMW motorsport boss Mario Theissen says the German company's plans for the future will be decided next month, and they include working with the Williams team

Rumours in the Nurburgring paddock continued to make the rounds, claiming the engine manufacturer plans to break their partnership with Williams and buy the Sauber team instead.

Theissen denied BMW were to decide about their plans on Tuesday, as rumoured, but rather during next month.

He also said BMW have every intention to keep working with Williams.

"It is the first time I have heard about Tuesday," said Theissen. "I heard about various dates. We will discuss our strategy in June. Don't expect a result next week, rather at the end of June.

"I can only say we are very focussed on working with Williams, we expect a successful season with Williams, we are talking to Sauber primarily on engine supply for next year, everything beyond that is speculation and I don't know what the outcome will be at the moment. It is not to me to decide."
