Berger: Barcelona will be a struggle

BMW's head of motorsport Gerhard Berger has said that he expects Ferrari to set the pace at the Spanish GP, leaving Williams to fight for second place

"It's absolutely a Ferrari circuit, I think," he admitted. "Were going to have some circuits where we're really struggling, and that's Barcelona, Budapest, places like that."

So far this season the Williams-BMW partnership has taken one win (in Malaysia) and come close to a second (Brazil). However, the team had no answer to Ferrari last time out at Imola, a track where BMW's fabled horsepower advantage was supposed to come to the fore.

Michael Schumacher's third win of the season increased his lead over Williams' Ralf Schumacher to 14 points and Berger, whose record number of appearances for Ferrari was beaten by Schuey at San Marino, acknowledges the Scuderia will be tough to beat this year.

"In F1 you always have a team having a high performance in a certain area," he said. "I think at the moment it's a big Ferrari era, and after 21 years we're all happy to seem them achieving wins again. All that we are trying to do is to see that the next era comes to us."
