Alguersuari not distracted by FR3.5 race
Jamie Alguersuari says he will not let the final race of the Formula Renault 3.5 championship distract him from his job in Formula 1
The Spaniard, who made his grand prix debut earlier this year with the Toro Rosso team, has continued to race in the World Series and has one left to go at the Motorland Aragon circuit on October 25.
Despite continuing to race in the championship, Alguersuari has made it clear that his future belongs in Formula 1.
And the Spanish driver admitted making the switch back to his non-F1 car is proving quite a challenge.
"It's difficult, especially when you go back to World Series, that car is completely different and the tyres too," said Alguersuari. "Now we only have one race left, but for my experience it is good and we still have the championship going, but as long as it doesn't interfere.
"When I go back to adapt to the Michelin tyres and the brakes, it's a different feeling, so it's tough. I think a good driver adapts himself to everything and in World Series there are guys who have been there for a few years and they know everything about the car and the tyres - and it's hard to beat them as well.
"My future is in Formula 1 and I'm really relaxed and I'm busy here with my work. The final race is at the new track at Motorland Aragon and it's in Spain, so I'm looking forward to that.
"The track is brand new and it's amazing... Finally I get a free weekend next weekend and then it's the new circuit the week after Brazil."
