Frenchman Jean Alesi said on Friday he was as hungry for Formula One success now as he has ever been and is hoping to reach his 200th Grand Prix next season.
Alesi, the oldest driver on the grid at 36, revealed that he would stay with Prost for another season to reach his landmark.
His best lap in Friday free practice was the slowest of all but he said he hoped to repeat his qualifying performance in Belgium on Saturday.
"This is my 180th Grand Prix but I am still ready to fight," Alesi said. "I will be driving with Prost next year and I cannot wait for my 200th race.
"The car was competitive in Spa, but it was unlucky that we weren't able to get points. It was my decision to come into the pits, even though we had a good chance of getting back into the top group."
Alesi, who has driven for Tyrrell, Ferrari, Benetton, Sauber and Prost since entering Formula One in 1989, has won just one race -- the Canadian Grand Prix in 1995.
