"I've got a massive flat-spot," says Norris, who adds, "Yeah, it's bad" when asked if it's too much to drive on.The McLaren is back in the pits now.
Another off, but not at Ste Devote this time. Verstappen locked up and bailed out of trying to make Mirabeau, then encountered some difficulty getting his car into reverse and needed the help of the marshals.
Two offs at Ste Devote in quick succession, as replays show Kvyat going off and Norris later having a big lock-up approaching the first corner before bailing for the escape road.
Gasly has popped up to fifth in his Red Bull, but is 1.260s off the pace.
Riding onboard with Hamilton, replays show the Mercedes driver right up the rear of the Toro Rosso of Kvyat, who appeared to be on a fast lap of his own.
Not good news for Sainz, who is yet to set a time. His garage area has been roped off, as McLaren attempts to fix a reported battery issue.
"I have so much front-left graining," says Leclerc.
Replays show Kubica having a fairly hefty half-spin at Casino, which he gets away with despite touching the wall.
From nowhere, Giovinazzi popped his Alfa Romeo up to fifth a few moments ago.
The Williams driver, who is currently 16th, adds it was a "relatively big hit" and asks Williams if it can see rear toe angles on his car. "Negative, that's down to your steering wheel," is the reply.
Russell says "I just hit the wall" and that he will "do a slow lap now to see if it's OK".
Yep... it changed. Hamilton goes back to the top of the times on a 1m12.106s - so times are now faster than they were in FP1 last year.
It's likely to change almost immediately but, halfway through the session, here's the top 10: 1 Bottas; 2 Hamilton; 3 Leclerc; 4 Vettel; 5 Verstappen; 6 Kvyat; 7 Gasly; 8 Albon; 9 Hulkenberg; 10 Ricciardo
But Bottas goes quickest once again on a 1m12.248s. Leclerc goes 0.219s slower in third, while Vettel can only improve marginally and is fourth.
Obviously we spoke too soon - Hamilton goes fastest of all by 0.396s on his next lap.
Again, it's early, but this is encouraging pace from the Ferraris.
Bottas goes fastest of all now - despite hitting a barrier before that effort - on a 1m12.818s. Leclerc was second, but is displaced by the other Ferrari of Vettel - who goes just 0.034s slower than Bottas.
And Vettel pops up to third after matching his team-mate's time!
Leclerc is four tenths down on Hamilton through the first two sectors, but sets a fastest time of all in sector threee to go second, 0.082s off the Mercedes man.
Stroll, who's 16th for Racing Point, reports his rear tyres are "really dropping off".
Kvyat pops up to fourth for Toro Rosso, eight tenths off Hamilton. Red Bull's sister team has consistently been in the midfield pack at each grand prix so far this season, but never far enough up that order to score heavily. We're of course less than 40 minutes into this session, but might this be the weekend for it to make its mark?
And the rest: 11 Raikkonen; 12 Vettel; 13 Perez; 14 Giovinazzi; 15 Norris; 16 Kubica; 17 Stroll; 18 Grosjean; 19 Russell; 20 Sainz (no time)
An hour down, here's the early order: 1 Hamilton; 2 Verstappen; 3 Bottas; 4 Leclerc; 5 Gasly; 6 Albon; 7 Kvyat; 8 Hulkenberg; 9 Ricciardo; 10 Magnussen.
Hamilton has gone faster still on a 1m12.932s, while Verstappen is up to second - half a second down - for Red Bull.
Hamilton is fastest for now on a 1m13.624s. For reference, last year's fastest FP1 time was a 1m12.126s set by Ricciardo.

It's a communication problem for Haas, which says:

Telemetry and radio issue - we can’t communicate with drivers. FIA stepped in so we could get cars back to pits as pit board’s weren’t doing the business.

Bottas lost bodywork from his car when he just clouted the inside kerb at swimming pool one. This followed the Red Bull of Gasly clobbering the kerb and having a massive sideways moment. He did well to keep it off the wall.
When did we last see this? Haas pair Grosjean and Magnussen have both been shown a black flag.
The Red Bulls of Gasly and Verstappen were the final cars we were waiting for to take to the track, but both have now set times. The nose scoops on their cars have been ditched for this weekend, while Red Bull has also introduced floor updates.
