Good banker lap by Verstappen to split the two Mercedes cars out front. Gasly is three quarters of a second slower, and is fifth behind Ricciardo.
Bottas is the first man this weekend in the 1m10s, which is a new track record - but for how long?
Kvyat is third, but some 1.2s off the pace. Norris, Magnussen, Hulkenberg, Sainz and Giovinazzi slot in behind.
Stopwatch
Hamilton fires in a 1m11.124s to kick things off, but Bottas is instantly much quicker with a superb 1m10.701s.
Round 2 - ding-ding! It's time to go again. Q1's already claimed a big scalp, what does this next 15 minutes have in store?
I've written and spoken positively about Mattia Binotto since his appointment as Ferrari team principal but he must act to address this long-running Ferrari problem with its strategy.
Unless there are mitigating circumstances that have passed me by, that was an unforgivable failure of risk management from Ferrari. We've seen blunders like this on the strategy side too often for a top organisation.
Binotto needs to work out why that is and how to change it. Succeeding where his predecessors have failed probably depends on it.

Green flag
Q2 now underway. The Mercedes pair and Kvyat are the first drivers heading out.
And let's give a shout-out to Daniil Kvyat, who split the Red Bulls on his second run.

The track was definitely improving towards the end of the session, so it beggars belief a little bit that Ferrari didn't elect to send him out. What this DOES mean is that someone in the midfield is going to be a very happy inheritor of at least a third-row start tomorrow...
Information
Advanced to Q2: 1 Vettel, 2 Hamilton, 3 Bottas, 4 Verstappen, 5 Kvyat, 6 Gasly, 7 Ricciardo, 8 Grosjean, 9 Norris, 10 Magnussen, 11 Sainz, 12 Giovinazzi, 13 Raikkonen, 14 Albon, 15 Hulkenberg.
So, two Williams, two Racing Points and a Ferrari head for an early bath. Drama already in Monaco, and a P16 start for Leclerc is going to be a very difficult hole to get out of.

Shock! Horror! Leclerc hasn't made it - that's an absolute nightmare! Ferrari, once again, showing cracks in its operational setup...
Crash
Out in Q1: 16 Leclerc, 17 Perez, 18 Stroll, 19 Russell, 20 Kubica.
It's a 1m11.434s from Vettel, leaving him a tenth clear of Hamilton and seven tenths clear of the eliminated Leclerc.
Crash
Vettel goes top! Which means Charles Leclerc is out in Q1.
Leclerc is shuffled down to P15, with Vettel still to complete his lap.
Everyone below Leclerc is improving, so now the Monegasque in P13 could be in huge trouble!
Just 0.7s separate the top 15, that's amazingly close.
Checkered flag
Chequered flag. Vettel is quickest of all in S1. Desperate for a clean lap.
Information
Drop zone: 16 Hulkenberg, 17 Vettel, 18 Stroll, 19 Russell, 20 Kubica. Hulkenberg, Vettel and Stroll should all get another shot.
Vettel's back on the road, but it's going to have to be error-free to get out of the drop-zone.
Ah, no, apologies, the timing hadn't refreshed. He's on track at the moment, he might be able to start another lap.
Vettel's down in 17th, and he's in the pitlane! He's out!
Perez has improved to 13th in what was a very impressive effort in the RP19. At the same time, the track is clearly improving.
Vettel's slapped the barrier in the middle of the swimming pool, so he's run down into the pits to get that looked at. And he's not in a great place either...
Stopwatch
Hamilton goes top, 1m11.542s, 0.020s quicker than Bottas.
The Ferraris have been struggling for a clean lap. Leclerc is now shuffled down to 11th, and Vettel is down to 15th!
So, who's at risk? Hulkenberg and Norris are on the bubble, while Giovinazzi and Raikkonen are also currently looking nervously at the timing boards.
Grosjean improves to fifth place, narrowly ahead of his team-mate Magnussen, confirming Haas' strong form in Q1.
Leclerc's missed the weighbridge! He's been rolled back into place, so he might be okay there...
The best of the Racing Points is half a second behind the target P15, while the best of the Williams FW42s is eight tenths off. Chances are four of the five places in the drop zone are already decided.
Bottas's timesheet-topper came with a neat little drift around the Loews hairpin - showing off some of his rallying chops.
Information
Five minutes to go, your drop zone is: 16 Hulkenberg, 17 Perez, 18 Stroll, 19 Russell, 20 Kubica.
Most of the cars are back in the pits, priming for a second bite at the cherry, as Russell circulates to be almost within 2 seconds of the pace.
Stopwatch
And now Bottas goes top, 1m11.562s. Mind you, he's only 0.035s quicker than Verstappen, and has been on track for longer.
Gasly reclaims second place from Magnussen, restoring a Red Bull 1-2, before Hamilton slots in between the Frenchman and team-mate Verstappen.
