Grosjean has exceeded track limits too many times and is the next driver to pick up a five-second time penalty. He gets it just as Bottas, having pitted, becomes an unexpected chicane that he can't really get by for fear of the blue flags.
Radio Comms
"Lewis is onto the hard tyre", Bottas is told. "Maybe...we think about the soft", comes the reply. But on pitting, he gets the hard too.
Hamilton pits for the hard tyre now, coming out in second having built such a commanding gap over the non-Mercedes cars.
Out of the midfield runners only Ocon, in sixth, is yet to pit. Elsewhere Kvyat becomes the latest driver to be shown the black and white flag for track limit infringements.
Bottas gets pinged for track limits, so he's going to have to be careful from here-on in.
Pit stop
Russell finally pits on lap 37 having climbed up to seventh place and returns to the action in 14th for Williams.

Stroll comes in for his second pitstop and duly serves his five plus five time penalties to drop to last place and 36 seconds behind Magnussen ahead of him. Ouch.
In the meantime, we had a phenomenal battle for fifth between Perez and Ocon. Perez was forced to the outside line into turn 5, but kept it planted and managed to hold the line for position.
Inspired by Raikkonen and Sainz, Ocon and Perez produce stunning racing on lap 35. Ocon defends on the inside at the Turn 5 hairpin but that forces him to the outside when they get to Turns 7 and 8 and Perez dives ahead to take fifth place.
Leclerc pits, as Verstappen begins to find time in the mediums. Hard tyres for the Ferrari driver, who rejoins in fourth.
Radio Comms
Bottas is told to cool the car, with a warning on his dash. He's already 8s behind Hamilton now too.
Sainz and Raikkonen produce a battle royale on lap 33 for 10th place as Sainz draws alongside on two occasions, Turns 1 and 6, but supreme defending from the Finn sees him keep the place. It isn't for long as DRS assistance gives Sainz the place at the start of the next lap.
On new mediums, Verstappen's taking baby steps into Leclerc's advantage, but not by a lot.
Information
Stroll is having a bad afternoon so far, as he gets another five-second time penalty - this time for exceeding track limits too many times already in this race. We're not even at halfway distance.
Grosjean is the next driver to be shown the black and white flag for exceeding track limits too many times. The Haas driver is currently in P17 tucked up behind Giovinazzi.
Pit stop
Gasly also comes in to pit from fourth, returning ahead of Ricciardo.
Rain
There are drops of rain on a number of TV cameras around the lap but it looks like the kind of precipitation that won't require intermediate or wet tyres. Dry rain, if you like. But we don't have a graphic for that.
Pit stop
Sainz pits from fifth, just as Verstappen was due to get by him. He rejoins on mediums behind Raikkonen and ahead of Albon.
Perez has duly got ahead of Russell to take ninth place without too much trouble. The Mexican is the fastest driver on the track currently.
Radio Comms
"Showers in the distance, turn 8", Hamilton reports. Bono tells him it's not getting any closer on the track.
A 1m20.775s for Hamilton, who extends the lead to four seconds.

Information
Stroll has been given a five-second time penalty for causing the collision with Norris. A fair judgement on that clash.
Pit stop
Verstappen comes out just ahead of Ocon, so Gasly and Sainz have got through. Medium tyres for Max.
At the start of lap 23 Perez moves up another place as he overtakes Giovinazzi for 10th place. Next up is Russell in the Williams and given the speculation over that race seat between the two this could be tasty.
Gap between Hamilton and Bottas is now up to 3s, as Verstappen pits from third place.
Perez is continuing his charge back through the pack after his lap one clash with Verstappen, as he darts ahead of Gasly on the main straight to take 11th place. With everyone ahead yet to pit he still has a shot at points.
Radio Comms
"It's starting to rain again," Sainz reports.
Gasly did what Stroll couldn't and clears a McLaren. Sainz now drops to sixth.
That Norris vs Stroll clash has given Ocon a free promotion to seventh place, with Vettel up to eighth place. Welcome gifts for those two given their recent form.
Bottas tried the pocketsand method of defense, but Hamilton was too quick and was able to rub any off-line dirt out of his eyes.
Hamilton clears Bottas to take the lead! The British driver is a lot quicker, gets the momentum in the final corner and gets clear with DRS.
Information
Both Norris and Stroll pit after that contact and both have been placed under investigation for the incident.
Not a good moment for Stroll. The Racing Point driver had been hounding Norris for seventh place but a half-move around the outside at Turn 1 sees him clip the McLaren driver and get into a spin. Stroll gets going again but is down in 16th.
Gasly's all over Sainz now, who's trying to keep the French driver at bay.
Stopwatch
Hamilton sets the fastest lap, a 1m21.366s. We see you.
Hamilton's "left front doesn't feel that great" either, and he's on the mediums. This might hint at a two-stopper, but we know Hamilton's propensity for sometimes overplaying tyre wear...
Pit stop
Ricciardo pits as expected to get rid of his softs for new mediums and returns in 19th place. Sensible call by Renault as he was also holding up team-mate Ocon.
Ricciardo is now the sitting duck on the straight as he losses places to both Gasly and Stroll on consecutive laps. The running order is still yet to settle down which is keeping everyone pretty busy as thoughts start to shift to the pitstops.
