Fifth-placed Bottas is re-opening up the gap over Hamilton, bringing his advantage back up to over three seconds. Pace in that Alfa.
Super racing at the back of the pack as Vettel runs side-by-side with Latifi around a fake beach and gets the move done into Turn 13 to take 14th place.
Alonso, who had been stuck behind Gasly, has a slow stop at 5.7s due to a ticky tyre and comes out in 13th place.
Verstappen did a 1m33.510 at the end of lap 15 to extend his advantage over Leclerc, but was more or less on-par with the Ferrari on the following tour.
"We are planning to go for plan B," Leclerc is told, perhaps going longer into the race. He's 3.3s off Verstappen now, with Sainz another 2.2s behind.
Schumacher pits at the end of lap 14, also going from mediums to hards, and comes out 3.2s behind his Haas team-mate.
After losing time to Bottas earlier, Hamilton's reversing the arrears and is now within two seconds of his former team-mate.
Russell has fired up his hards now and gets a bit of a freebie overtake, as Ricciardo goes wide at Turn 17, which allows the Brit to charge by into 11th place.
Magnussen is the next into the pits, also going from the mediums to the hards, and comes back out in 18th place.
Leclerc's gone a bit too deep into Turn 17 on that past lap, losing a second to Verstappen last time around. It's now lap 13, which could be unlucky for some.
Tsunoda becomes the first driver to pit in this race, pitting at the end of lap 11, trading in his mediums for fresh hards
The Haas drivers have traded places, with Magnussen taking 10th place off Schumacher.
"We are extending this stint as much as we can," Sainz is told, as Ferrari tries to keep its strategic options open as the race could potentially require two stops.
On lap 10 Ricciardo has overtaken Tsunoda to take 12th place. The Aussie charged up the inside at Turn 1 which appears to already be the favoured overtaking spot on this new track.
And lap 10 proved to be a bit iffy for Leclerc, who shipped 0.7s over the lap to lose touch with the leader.
Leclerc has kept with Verstappen in the opening couple of sectors - but the Red Bull scampers down the road along the back straight to keep his lead well out of arm's reach.
The Dutchman gets really close in the final few corners, and now cruises past Leclerc into Turn 1 at the start of lap 9 - barely a contest, such is the pace of the Red Bull!
Verstappen's right in DRS range of Leclerc now, he could have a real shot as he's gaining quite a lot at this juncture...
Hamilton is now in free air, but he's not closing down Bottas at this rate - if anything, Bottas is opening up the gap to his former team-mate.
Zhou is the first race retirement as he pits at the end of lap seven. Cruel luck for the F1 rookie.
Tsunoda has been swamped by the Haas, with both Schumacher and Magnussen getting by the end of lap six.
At the start of lap six Hamilton dives ahead of Gasly at Turn 1 to reclaim sixth place.
Verstappen's got a 1m34.287s for the time being, but Leclerc posts a 1m33.963s to stretch his legs a little bit.
"It definitely feels like I've got damage to the left-rear," Hamilton reports over team radio. It can't be too bad as he is all over the rear wing of Gasly.
TV replays of the start show Alonso banged his right-front wheel face to face with Hamilton's left-rear which caused the Mercedes driver to lose momentum and drop back.
Further back Ocon has got ahead of Latifi into 17th place, while Stroll leads team-mate Vettel at the back of the field.
On lap three Hamilton gets back by Alonso with the aid of DRS on the run to Turn 11. The Mercedes driver is now seventh and chasing after Gasly - it is Imola all over again!
Leclerc's putting his foot down in front, trying to keep Verstappen out of DRS range off the bat as the Red Bull has some legs on the straights.
Ricciardo also made a rapid start going from 14th to 11th place on the first lap, while Russell, on the hards, has dropped from 12th to 15th.
Hamilton has a poor start, locking up at Turn 1, and loses places to Gasly and Alonso to drop to eighth place. Both Aston Martins are in this race starting from pitlane.
Leclerc gets away well, as Verstappen forces his way past Sainz to move up to second! Perez and Bottas continue to follow, continuing from where they began.
Tyre check: hard tyres for Stroll, Russell, Vettel, Latifi and Ocon. Mediums for the rest.
There is a tangible risk of rain for this race, 40% according to F1's stats.
Apparent fuel issue for both Astons - they're trying to get going from the pits. More on that as we have it.
Our own Luke Smith and Jess McFadyen have just appeared on TV - so they're celebrities now. I knew them BEFORE they were on the telly...
It appears, according to our folks on the ground, that Lance Stroll's P10 grid slot is bare - as is Vettel's P13 slot. Pitlane starts for the Aston duo?
