Perez does now pit, and he'll rejoin behind Ricciardo to put the pair on equal footing.
Ricciardo takes the pitstop, bolting on some softs. Perez occupies third, but hasn't stopped.
Yellow flag
Safety car has been deployed.
There's a small fire on the right-hand sidepod as the engine just gave up.
Safety car
With Norris stopping in a tricky place the safety car has been deployed!
Norris pulls over at the side of the road. Game over for the McLaren driver.
Perez is within 10s of Ricciardo now, having taken a full minute out of his podium rival.
Pit stop
Vettel duly pits at the end of the lap to ditch his hards for fresh soft tyres, but it was a slow stop with a sticky front-right wheel. The Ferrari driver is back out in 15th place, only in front of Kvyat.
Hamilton's opened the gap at the front to 10s. It's lap 43/60, while Verstappen has a full minute over Ricciardo in third.
It is going from bad to worse for Vettel as Hulkenberg overtakes him at Turn 1 to take ninth place. Vettel radios that his fronts are dropping off and he doesn't think he can make it to the end of the race with 17 laps to go.
Vettel is getting a bit beaten up now, as Gasly gets ahead of him for eighth place. The Ferrari driver fought for the place through the Turn 1-2 sequence but had to yield braking for Turn 3 which caused him to lock up his fronts.
A lap later Leclerc gets ahead of Vettel but makes a meal of it at Turn 1, locking up and running wide, which also forces the German driver to take avoiding action. Messy, but the end result is Leclerc up to seventh.
Perez has cut the gap to Ricciardo, and lies 14s behind. The Racing Point driver was a second faster than the Renault on that previous lap.
Two-stopper Leclerc makes quick work of getting back ahead of Raikkonen for eighth place and now has Ferrari team-mate Vettel ahead of him.
A lesser-spotted Lewis Hamilton, with a few flecks of graining on his tyres. He laps sixth-placed Norris.
Pit stop
Giovinazzi pits from eighth place having been struggling for pace throughout that stint. The Italian is back on track in 13th place between the two Haas drivers.
Out in front, Hamilton has now got an 8s lead over Verstappen. We've barely seen them given the action among the midfielders.
Information
Grosjean and his poorly finger has been shown the black and white flag for exceeding track limits one too many times. He's currently running in 13th place and 20-odd seconds in front of Haas team-mate Magnussen.
Leclerc duly pits, relieving him of fifth. Battle on between Ricciardo, Perez and Sainz for third.
Sainz, now let into sixth by Norris, is right on Leclerc's six now.
Perez gets the move done into the chicane this time, giving him enough leeway to keep fourth as Leclerc can't get back at him with DRS this time.
Norris and Sainz duly trade places without much fuss. The British driver has a 15-second buffer over Giovinazzi behinnd him in eighth place with 25 laps of the race to go.
Lovely battle between Perez and Leclerc - Perez got the drive into the final corner to get around the outside, but Leclerc returns to fourth with DRS into turn 1.
Perez is now having a go at Leclerc to try and grab fourth. He might have to get his elbows out, as Leclerc's been on the defensive today.
With Gasly also pitting it means all drivers still in the race have stopped once, so the running order is back into line. Norris is bleeding time with his power unit issue and looks set to concede sixth place to McLaren team-mate Sainz in a couple of laps.
Norris is given another order of "Default 0-3" to keep him in the game. Perez, now released, is catching Leclerc pretty swiftly.
Perez clears Norris at the chicane, as it looked like the McLaren just had nothing after the back-straight kink.
Pit stop
Hulkenberg duly pits shortly after it being mentioned it and returns to the action on fresh medium tyres in 14th place but ahead of both Grosjean and Kvyat.
Radio Comms
"It's getting worse," Norris reports, as he pits. They send him back out on mediums, and he rejoins ahead of Perez.
Pit stop
Perez does indeed pit now for mediums, as does Sainz behind him to free up Ricciardo.
Norris is seeing pink elephants pit, but he's told Perez has still yet to box. Meanwhile, Ricciardo is closing down Sainz for fifth.
With all the action, clashes and retirements, super sub Hulkenberg hasn't had much of a shoutout. The German driver has climbed to ninth place but is yet to pit this afternoon - still has a good chance for points, mind.
Dropping like flies this afternoon, it seems. Norris is still 1.3s clear of Perez, so it's not affecting him too much.
"I'm losing power," Norris reports, saying he has no deployment. That's a new power unit in Norris' car, and it seems to be a sensor issue. "Default 0", he's told. "Confirmed, it's not any better," says the driver.
Twitter
At the front, Hamilton's four seconds ahead of Verstappen.
Renault has reported Ocon retired with a suspected hydraulic issue. He joins Russell, Bottas and Albon in watching the rest of this race from the side of the track.
Information
Albon has been given a five-second time penalty for his clash with Kvyat. But it is much worse than that as he pits and retires the car.
This is not turning into the race Albon had hoped for. He locks up at the first corner attempting an overtake up the inside on Gasly and comes so close to contact with an AlphaTauri for the second time today.
Radio Comms
Ocon took to the escape road. "I lost something. I don't have braking. The gears are not working guys" he says, coming into the pits.
