Plenty of drivers easing themselves into it at the Nurburgring, as it will be all too easy to go awry on a green and cold track this morning. Verstappen is the first to test track limits as he goes wide at Turn 4 which sees his first lap deleted.
Stopwatch
Sainz provides the early leading effort of 1m38.311s to get the timing screen into action.
Twitter
A well-coordinated stampede to pit exit sees 11 drivers straight into the action, including Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Time to get warmed up, the install laps in and ready for some timed efforts.
Green flag
Here we go! 25 hours later than originally planned, F1 track action is underway at the Nurburgring.
The other good news is the FIA has got a plan in place in case the fog and rain returns to ensure it won't stop any further F1 track action:

But a word of warning, chilly conditions and a relatively unfamiliar circuit will pose plenty of challenges to the F1 drivers this weekend. The current track temperature is 13.4oC and the air temperature has just nudged above 8oC.
Coming up is 60 minutes of free practice and given the - checks notes - zero running completed on Friday, this should be a very busy session. None of that lazy start to FP3 today.
Sun
Yesterday's no-show will be put into the F1 history book filed under 'remember that day at the Nurburgring when nobody did anything'. There's no chance of rain or fog delaying the start of final practice this morning.
Good morning - and what a morning! The sun is shining, the birds (and medical helicopter) are flying, everything is wonderful once again.
