Breaking news
Perhaps unsurprisingly the Perez vs Leclerc II incident is under investigation. Perez still has a five-second time penalty to serve from the first clash.
Perez and Leclerc won't be exchanging Christmas cards this year. The Ferrari driver keeps it pinned around the outside at Turn 6 but once again Perez doesn't yield and that edges Leclerc on to the gravel.
Gasly duly pits at the end of lap 46 to release Ricciardo into sixth place.
After that coming together it is as you were, with Gasly still holding off Ricciardo and Perez, penalty incoming, catching up on the pair.
Quote
"I've lost a lot off the rear - I can't go much faster," Hamilton says. He had floor damage, so that will be the culprit.
Norris is also catching the Mercs, however, as he's lapping in the 1m08s and the Mercedes cars are in the 1m09s. The gap's down to 3s.
Penalty
Perez has duly been given a five-second time penalty for that clash with Leclerc. It was very similar to Perez's incident with Norris earlier, so the same punishment has been handed out.
Bottas is now catching Hamilton, and looks like he might have a shot at passing. The AWS overtake detector suggests a pass might be on in a couple of laps.
Leclerc, not content with being the final car in the DRS train, tries to go around the outside of Perez at Turn 4 but he gets moved on to the gravel as they bash tyres.
The latest DRS train has departed around the Red Bull Ring. Gasly, set to pit again shortly, leads it in sixth place ahead of Ricciardo, Perez and Leclerc. Choo choo.
Verstappen continues to extend his massive lead, which is now over 16s.
Russell on the attack. He dives up the inside of Stroll at Turn 3 to take 13th place.
Quote
"Stay away from exit kerb at Turn 10, Lewis may have some damage from that," Bottas is told.
Pit stop
And it works, as Leclerc pits but is powerless to stop Perez charging by and gaining a place.
Perez comes out still behind Ricciardo, but he'll be wanting to get a shift on to undercut Leclerc.
Pit stop
Perez also pits from sixth, for the hard tyre.
Hard tyres for all of the above, as Verstappen will also now pit for the same compound.
Pit stop
Norris comes out ahead of Leclerc and Perez, so returns to the track in fourth. Hamilton now pits.
Giovinazzi also pits, for the second time in this race after his first lap clash with Ocon, and serves his own five-second time penalty. That sees the Italian return to the track in P18.
Norris now comes in, as Bottas follows him in to jump the McLaren driver.
Ricciardo duly stops, which should open things out a little for McLaren to pit Norris, plus five-second penalty.
Ricciardo attempts to pocket-sand the chasing Leclerc on the exit of Turn 10, kicking up a bit of dirt. The McLaren driver is still fifth, as Perez chases them both.
Flying formation for the AlphaTauris and the Aston Martins, who all pitted early having started on the soft tyres. The quartet are working their way up the order with Gasly leading that charge in 12th.
Quote
Norris isn't too happy about that penalty. "What was the guy expecting, trying to go around the outside?"
Stopwatch
Verstappen duly sets a 1m08.882s to further extend his lead.
Hamilton is now attempting to close the rather hefty 10s gap to Verstappen now. "It's becoming a little bit more difficult now with tyres," Verstappen says, but he doesn't seem too worried.
25 laps into this race and Mazepin has been shown the first blue flags of the afternoon as he is lapped by Verstappen.
Penalty
Not another one... Tsunoda has been given a five-second time penalty for crossing the white line at pit entry.
Quote
"Such a great driver, Lando," Hamilton says. That's awful nice of him.
Penalty
Norris receives a five-second penalty for forcing off Perez - and it's a bad lap as he is passed by Hamilton for second place.
With Vettel stopping that is all the soft tyre starters in, so focus will switch to the medium tyre runners and the strategy between a one or a two stop race.
Pit stop
Vettel is cleared by Ricciardo who goes fifth, and the Aston Martin driver elects to come in and pit.
Breaking news
The race stewards are busy this afternoon - Tsunoda is under investigation for crossing the white line at pit entry.
Perez's afternoon is quickly becoming a tough one, as he is overtaken by Leclerc for seventh place. The Ferrari driver produces the switchback at Turn 4 to get by the Red Bull - a move he used a lot last weekend in his charge through the pack.
Bottas seems to be planning a longer stint, perhaps looking to eke his mediums out for a one-stop.
Pit stop
Gasly comes in for a stop, also for the hard tyre as the AlphaTauris look set on a two-stopper.
Breaking news
The Norris/Perez incident is under investigation.
Tsunoda comes in for a stop, taking on the hard tyre.
Russell's dreams of points for Williams are becoming slightly trickier to realise as he is overtaken by Sainz for 12th place.
