Asked for some feedback on conditions and spray, Hamilton replies: "It's no different".
"Slow puncture on the front right," Toro Rosso tells Kvyat. But he cannot pit while the pit is closed. "I don't feel anything at the moment; I can drive," he tells the team.
Ricciardo is being investigated for pitting while the pits were closed following Ericsson's shunt.
"It's way too wet now - period," reports Magnussen, who was one of the boldest initially before the weather worsened.
Race control announces the pit entry is open again.
Perez spins his Force India through 360 degrees but stays sixth.
"The problem is you have so much running water across the circuit. It's a tricky one." Button reports the terrible conditions at the last corner that caught out Ericsson.
The Sauber is the safe side of the barrier now, so shouldn't be too long before we're racing again.
11 Wehrlein (W); 12 Alonso (I); 13 Bottas (I); 14 Magnussen (I); 15 Button (I); 16 Kvyat (I); 17 Massa (I); 18 Vettel (I); 19 Gutierrez (1): 20 Palmer (I)
Order: 1 Hamilton (W); 2 Rosberg (W); 3 Raikkonen (W); 4 Verstappen (I); 5 Hulkenberg (W); 6 Perez (W); 7 Sainz (W); 8 Nasr (W); 9 Ricciardo (I); 10 Ocon (W)
The Sauber is now being craned off the circuit over the armco barrier.
Verstappen managed to rejoin in fourth on intermediates, ahead of the Force Indias. That's worked out well.
Ericsson lost it on the kerb and spun across the circuit into the wall before bouncing back across into the pit entry road.
"We were still really, really far away from inters," says Rosberg. "Still aquaplaning".
The left front wheel is missing from the Sauber. That won't be easy to move...
"Was that someone on inters?" Hamilton asks regarding crasher Ericsson. "Still way too much surface water."
Ricciardo pits as well, but was that done after the message from race control that the pit entry was closed due to Ericsson's crash?
Verstappen dives in for intermediates, just before the pit entrance is officially closed.
Massa and Gutierrez are both under investigation for overtaking too soon at the restart.
Raikkonen adds: "I don't think I can stay on the circuit very easily if we change now."
"We are on the crossover and lots of people are switching to inters," Ferrari tells Raikkonen. But he argues "I almost spun again".
After dropping time to the Mercedes for a couple of laps, Verstappen is now equalling their pace again. He's 6.3s off.
Vettel just lost the rear unexpectedly on the standing water. Not even close to a white line. That's how tricky it is out there. Looks as though he contributed to his slow stop by releasing the clutch a little too soon.
No sign of the leaders pitting for intermediates yet, Rosberg now matching Hamilton's pace again.
Hamilton gets his lead just over 3s with a lap a second quicker than Rosberg. We're onto lap 12 of 71.
Slow tyre change for the Ferrari. Seems odd, but Vettel is not a fan of the full wet Pirellis, and will probably find more grip on the inter.
Order: 1 Hamilton; 2 Rosberg +2.9s; 3 Verstappen +6.9s; 4 Raikkonen +13.4s; 5 Ricciardo +14.9s
Vettel dives for the pits after recovering from that spin. Nothing to lose now so might as well swap onto inters.
Before that spin, Vettel had been debating with Ferrari whether it was worth pitting for inters purely to escape the spray.
Vettel was chasing Raikkonen when he lost it, eventually getting going after a long delay and immediately pitting.
