Stroll's back in the pits with seven laps to his name. Solid start to the afternoon for the rookie.
Huge improvement from Hamilton, who finds 0.002s to slash his time to a 1m22.031s. Stays eighth.
Hamilton's lap: personal best; personal best; personal best. Obviously. Because's not done a time yet.
But he has now! A 1m22.033s, which puts him P8.

Super-soft tyres for Hamilton so let's see if he has some fun straight out of the box.

Stroll's improved to a 1m22.814s in the Williams. Massa's urged the youngster to rack up the laps over the remaining three days, but also told his critics to back off and give him time:

Hamilton emerges in the Mercedes for the first time today. He was complaining of a damaged floor yesterday morning, so will want a cleaner run today.
Perez is back in the pits. Have a breather, lad – you've earned it. Thanks for the laps.

Fans are probably playing their own game of 'Where's Lewis?'

Stroll's on soft tyres and his last lap was a 1m31.878s. As is the pattern of testing, we're expecting him to follow that up with another 'push' lap.
Perez, a 1m23.1s. This session commentary writes itself!
It's a 1m24.072s for Stroll first time round.
Perez through again, and it's another 1m23.1s.
Stroll's on the board with a lap, as he stays out to start a flier. Obviously he's set a personal best first sector – but we're still enthusiastic about it because at least something's happening.
Perez falls into the 1m23s on his third lap of this run. He had a good end to the morning, jumping to sixth at the end, and is looking to build on that momentum here.
Williams has sent Stroll out for the young Canadian's first run of the second test. Very good, Williams, but you had your chance to be the hero. Maybe next track lull.
Perez posts a 1m22.839s, comfortably the fastest time we've seen in this afternoon session.
He then follows it up with a 1m22.873s, comfortably the second-fastest time we've seen in this afternoon session.

You know, if McLaren stuck on some blue and purple flow-vis paint, we'd have a real Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles thing going on here. Pic: XPB
Perez has super-soft tyres bolted onto his Force India so hopefully he's going for a crowd-pleasing first run.

Props to Ivica Ivaci @ivexevi1 on Twitter for responding to our cool for an 'Into The Pits' movie poster. Check it out here.
PEREZ! Force India, we're telling you. People's. Champion.
A CAR!

If you've been wondering what former Williams development driver Alex Lynn will be up to this year, he is putting together a busy sportscar programme:

You got involved last week during F1 lunch break when we asked for haiku-format responses. So here's one for this action-packed start to the afternoon.
Cars sleeping soundly
Or housing sleeping drivers
At least the track’s dry

We keep hearing engines fire up, but they are almost certainly in our imagination. Yesterday Ben Anderson could smell popcorn in the media centre, too. Scenes.
That's probably to be expected as the sun has broken through and the track's been silent for OVER AN HOUR.
Information
Ambient temperature has hit 18.5C and exceeded track temperature (17.2C). Hmm. Interesting.
'Twas the sixth day of testing.
And all through the Circuit de Catalunya nobody did anything.
The end.

The end.
We've composed a Christmas-inspired rhyme for this moment. Let's clear our throat. *Ahem*...
Blitzed past the five-minute mark now, and there's no sign of anyone going out and doing some laps.
Three minutes in, and still nothing. We need a people's champion.

Actually, if you read the most recent issue of Autosport Performance (which is contained within the February 23 issue of Autosport) you'll fine an excellent Ben Anderson feature on fitness that contains some advice on what F1 drivers like to eat. Or more accurately, what nutritionists like to feed them.
As with yesterday, no immediate takers as teams and drivers finish with their stale sandwiches and satsumas. It's a glamorous life in the world of Formula 1.
Green flag
We have the green light for the afternoon session!

#f1lunchbreak Jan Lammers - he may not have been particularly successful, but a comeback after 10 years (1982/1992)? That's impressive.
