Verstappen may have had to clear Ericsson's Sauber on the last lap, which was a 1m23.782s.
Verstappen starts the 50th lap of this stint. Just another 16 and he's done a Spanish Grand Prix.
Alonso, Stroll and Grosjean have returned to the pits, leaving just Verstappen, Perez and Ericsson circulating.
It's a fight between Verstappen and Perez for 'most industrious driver'. They are on 91 and 92 laps respectively. That's a hell of a recovery from Red Bull and its engine supplier Renault considering they lost a big chunk of time – three hours of track running – earlier.
Verstappen's caught traffic – specifically, Grosjean's Haas. Looks like he got quite closes through Turns 11 and 12 and through the final sector.
Perez and Sainz have rejoined the track after short spells in their respective garages.
Stroll finds a bigger chunk of time and posts a 1m20.579s on super-softs. He goes fifth.
Two personal bests for Stroll so far on his latest run in the Williams.
Alonso's back on track. With 40 minutes on the clock, he should hit his half-century before the close of play. Currently the McLaren's managed 42 laps of the Catalunya circuit.

Mammoth run on ultra-softs for Hamilton. 20 laps outlap to inlap
Hamilton finally pits after a very long ultra-soft run – 20 laps from out to in! Impressively, his pace held up. It dropped by just over a second from beginning to end.
Stroll is on super-softs, so still has plenty of time to find. Patience, young grasshopper.
Hamilton's just cracking on. We expected him to return to the pits a couple of laps ago, he's posted a 1m23.8s and a 1m24.1s in that time.
Stroll's improved, first to a 1m21.187s then to a 1m21.096s. That launches him to sixth. Didn't see the tyres.
We forgot to update Verstappen's tally early when we did a count update. He's up to 81 now, and has just pit for soft tyres.
Hamilton's got another two laps on the ultra-softs, says his pitboard. Well, 'according to' his pitboard. Inanimate objects can't speak. There's a little Autosport style guide lesson for you.
Meanwhile, Verstappen is onto the 35th lap of his race run, and his 28th on the medium tyre. Mammoth stint.
What is impressive is Hamilton's run on ultra-softs – 10 laps and counting.
Alonso's pit in the McLaren. No lap time improvement but a few more laps on the board. Still, 41 is not exactly a thrilling tally for the day.

Information
Less than an hour of today's running to go.
Hamilton has caught Verstappen during this run. The effects of the ultra-softs vs the mediums. He's got past him – that was pretty simple.
Alonso is now on track in the McLaren.

Hamilton's on an ultra-soft tyre run at the moment. His lap times have been: 1m22.813s; 1m23.448s; 1m24.488s; 1m22.952s.
Verstappen's swapping between low-1m26s and high-1m25s. He's on the 17th lap of this stint on medium tyres now.
The lap time falls away from Grosjean on the ultra-softs – how many times have we said that? – and he can't improve.
Grosjean's posted a personal best first sector. He Haas been in a battle with Stroll/Sainz this afternoon.
Hamilton's back out there in the Mercedes. He's joining this afternoon's usual suspects – Perez, Sainz, Grosjean and, lately, Palmer.
Verstappen's still cracking on, although we've noted a lap that was about 10 seconds off his own pace, so there was possibly an error in there somewhere.
Good lap from Stroll, who improves to a 1m21.531s. That puts him eighth ahead of Sainz and Grosjean.

Stroll's back out in the Williams. He's on 38 laps, which is a reasonably productive shift for the afternoon.
Ericsson in the pits in the Sauber.
Five laps into the second stint of this Verstappen run and he's in mid-1m25s territory. It will be interesting to see how long he stays out for.

Ferrari stripping down the car after that Raikkonen off. No indication yet that the car suffered a failure. Some damage to the front suspension. Ferrari not sure yet whether the car will be repaired in time to run again before the end of the day.

Hoping for a return to V10 or V12 engines? FIA president Jean Todt can't see it happening because it would "not be accepted by society":

Crash
We now also have confirmation that the Raikkonen off at Turn 3 was caused by a spin.
