EDD STRAW: "With two stops expected to be the norm, this could be a fascinating battle with Ferrari. Assuming Ferrari is doing the chasing, the team would ideally like to go aggressive and bring one of its drivers, probably Vettel, in early to try and undercut and also force Mercedes to stop earlier than it would like."
Here's your pole man today - reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton leaving the garage. And for the second time in four races this year, the Mercedes driver has Sebastian Vettel's red Ferrari alongside him.

The Scuderia caught Mercedes out in Malaysia, resulting in the world champion team taking a cautious approach in China. It's going to be fascinating to see how the battle between the two teams plays out this time.

The drivers line-up on the red carpet at the head of the grid, while photographers and TV crews are pushed back to be kept at a distance.
As is now the norm, the drivers are making their way to the front of the grid for the national anthem ceremony before the start.
The sun is starting to set in Bahrain - it's still pretty bright at the moment, but it will be dark before we know it.
