A poor day for the Force India duo. Both drivers were a good half-second away from what was needed to get through to Q3.
Hulkenberg and Massa were big gainers in Q2 compared to their Q1 runs. The German found 0.4s while the Brazilian improved by 0.5s.

Di Resta reports of his final Q2 attempt: “Nowhere in the lap was it any better, probably worse. Not much I can say.”
Incident involving Hamilton and Sutil (possible impeding) being investigated by the stewards.
Further replays of Hamilton, who was stuck in a horrible run of traffic on his final run, but to be fair he should have got the job done on the lap where he ran wide at Parabolica.
An amazing second segment and here is the elimination list of those who will not make the shootout:
11) Raikkonen 1m24.610s
12) Hamilton 1m24.803s
13) Grosjean 1m24.848s
14) Sutil 1m24.932s
15) Maldonado 1m25.011s
16) di Resta 1m25.077s.
11) Raikkonen 1m24.610s
12) Hamilton 1m24.803s
13) Grosjean 1m24.848s
14) Sutil 1m24.932s
15) Maldonado 1m25.011s
16) di Resta 1m25.077s.
Disaster for Lotus though as both drivers miss out.
Both McLarens squeeze their way into Q3 then, as does the impressive Hulkenberg (in fifth!) and Massa.
Raikkonen gets bumped back to 11th with a late improvement from Felipe Massa and he's also out.
Grosjean improves his time but only comes through 14th!
Perez goes eigth on a 1m24.592s but is immediately bumped down to 10th, Button goes eighth now.
Hamilton is eliminated!
Hulkenberg flies into fifth on a 1m24.305s.
Oh! Hamilton has backed off in sector one and there are others going faster on their final efort.
Personal bests in the first sector for Perez, Button and Grosjean.
The qualifying period has ended. Cars that have already started a lap may complete it.
14 min: Raikkonen has a personal best in the first sector but doesn't improve in the middle. An unspectacular final sector but he does improve to eighth on a 1m24.610s.
14 min: Hamilton improves but it is only ninth with a time of 1m24.803s and the British driver is still in danger.
14 min: But Hamilton is encountering a lot opf traffic and loses some time in the middle portion.
Quote
14 min: Vettel is told: “That’s quick enough.”
14 min: Hamilton is looking better this time round. He is on track to progress at the first sector point.
13 min: Ricciardo also put in an improvement there with a solid lap of 1m24.520s. He is up in a fine fourth.
