Lap 18: Hamilton has finally unlocked some speed in his McLaren with a 1m31.797s lap, but he's already 16.4 seconds behind leader Vettel.
Lap 18: Perez has passed Kobayashi and is through to 15th as Sauber switches the positions.
Lap 18: Perez is now running much quicker on his fresh set of soft tyres. He remains in 16th, but has caught team-mate Kobayashi.
Lap 17: Meanwhile up front, Vettel is now a comfortable 3.8 seconds clear of Webber, while Alonso is now 8.7s behind the leader in third.
Lap 17: So Rosberg is ninth with Grosjean up to 10th, Senna 11th and Maldonado down to 12th spot, with di Resta 3.2s back in 13th.
Lap 17: Maldonado has dropped back from Rosberg. He gets drilled by Grosjean and then immediately by team-mate Senna on the long straight.
Lap 17: Raikkonen is looking racy in his Lotus today but still can't find a way past Massa as they circulate sixth and seventh.
Lap 16: Hamilton tells his team that he lost time lapping Schumacher's Mercedes, but the McLaren is also lacking race pace this afternoon.
Lap 16: Vergne has passed de la Rosa to take 21st place. He is now chasing down a 5.7s gap to Timo Glock.
Lap 15: Perez takes on soft tyres and rejoins the race in 16th place.
Lap 15: Vergne has caught de la Rosa and a battle begins over 21st position, as Perez heads for the pits from ninth.
Lap 15: Hamilton, in fourth, has pulled 2.2s clear of team-mate Button but is still in the 1m32s bracket and quickly falling away from the top three
Lap 15: Hulkenberg gets a great run at Perez on the long straight and he is easily through to eighth position in the Force India.
Lap 14: Vergne's next target is Pedro de la Rosa, who is 1.3 seconds ahead.
Lap 13: Vergne has dispatched Karthikeyan quickly and the Toro Rosso driver is up to 22nd spot.
Lap 13: Alonso is managing to match Webber at the moment in the late 1m31s, but continues to drop away from leader Vettel.
Lap 13: Towards the back end of the points, Hulkenberg has caught up to Perez and now beginning to attack the Mexican for eighth.
Lap 13: Vergne has caught Karthikeyan and the Indian will have to protect 22nd position, while controlling his brake temperature.
Lap 12: Vettel is on a push now, clocking a new best of 1m31.695s to pull 3.4s away from Webber.
Lap 12: Maldonado is now mounting a challenge on Rosberg in a battle over 10th position, but so far unable to find a way through.
Lap 11: Towards the rear of the field, Vergne continues to close down Karthikeyan. The gap is just three seconds.
Lap 11: Webber and Vettel trade the fastest lap in the low 1m32s bracket, holding the gap between the pair.
Lap 11: Maldonado 11th, Grosjean 12th and Senna 13th are all in close attendance behind Rosberg's Mercedes.
Lap 10: Perez in eighth is now over three seconds down on Raikkonen. Hulkenberg remains in ninth with Rosberg holding up that queue in 10th.
Lap 10: Vettel leads by three seconds as they start lap 10, with Alonso now 7.3s behind in third.
Lap 9: Hamilton has edged 1.3 seconds clear of Button, who is still chased by Massa and Raikkonen.
Lap 9: Further replays of the start show that it was extremely crowded in the midfield. Schumacher took his line and Vergne was in the middle of a multi-car sandwich with no real option to get out of it. The pair made contact.
Lap 9: Alonso is certainly keeping the Red Bull strategists awake, but is four tenths slower than Vettel on the latest tour.
Lap 9: Vergne is catching the tail-enders quite quickly now. He is 23rd but 11 seconds behind Karthikeyan.
Lap 8: Meanwhile, Vettel is away and gone up front, leading by 2.7 seconds over team-mate Webber. Alonso is now 6.4 seconds off the lead in third.
Lap 7: No moves on DRS this time as the Hamilton/Button/Massa/Raikkonen train continues to circulate.
Lap 7: Karthikeyan in 22nd is already being warned by his HRT engineer that he needs to cool the brakes, with 53 laps still to go.
Lap 7: Rosberg is in fact now holding up a queue of cars consisting of Maldonado, Grosjean and Senna.
Lap 6: Perez in eighth has fallen to 2.4s behind Raikkonen's Lotus, but Hulkenberg and Rosberg are unable to close in on the Sauber.
Lap 6: Hamilton plays the DRS card this time as he slips past team-mate Button to take over fourth.
Lap 6: Alonso has pulled a second clear of Button now, with Hamilton, Massa and Raikkonen close behind.
Lap 5: Alonso's Ferrari is certainly set up well for the long straight but he's already six seconds behind leader Vettel.
Lap 5: Petrov is 20th in the other Caterham with Glock 21st, Karthikeyan 22nd, then comes Vergne and Schumacher some way back.
Lap 5: Replays show Button got a great start from fourth to pass team-mate Hamilton before the scrap with Alonso down to Turn 4.
Lap 4: Senna is 13th ahead of di Resta 14th, Ricciardo only 15th, Kobayashi 16th, Kovalainen 17th and Pic 18th. De la Rosa is chasing them in 19th.
