Lap 12: Alonso is now 11.6 seconds behind the leader in fifth, with Raikkonen still on his gearbox.
Lap 12: Schumacher posts his fastest lap of the race so far, to close the gap behind Glock to 4.4 seconds.
Lap 12: Button is now 3.7 seconds behind Grosjean in third, a further 1.5 seconds clear of Vettel's Red Bull.
Lap 11: The Sauber driver is immediately on the move, passing Karthikeyan to take 21st. De la Rosa is just 2.4s ahead and next on the target list.
Lap 11: Hamilton sets the fastest lap at 1m27.705s, now leading by 2.3s over Grosjean.
Lap 11: Kobayashi rejoined after his stop just ahead of Glock, in 22nd.
Lap 11: This first stint is expected to be fairly short, with the soft tyres taking a lot of punishment on heavy fuel loads.
Lap 10: Schumacher remains in 24th after his problems in the first few laps. He is now 7.0s behind Glock.
Lap 10: Hamilton responds to pressure from Grosjean, setting almost identical laptimes to cement the gap at 2.1 seconds.
Lap 10: Raikkonen continues to harry Alonso in a battle over fifth but isn't showing any signs of making a move for the moment.
Lap 10: Having been stuck behind Petrov, the Japanese drivers pits to get some fresh tyres and more importantly - clean air.
Lap 9: Button is told he is easing away from Vettel, with the third-placed McLaren now 2.8 seconds clear of the Red Bull.
Lap 9: Down the field, Kobayashi in 19th is climbing over the back of Vitaly Petrov's Caterham.
Lap 9: Hulkenberg continues in 10th but he is falling away slightly from the developing Senna versus Massa battle and Rosberg is closing up to him.
Lap 9: Little in it between Hamilton and Grosjean for the moment, both lapping in the late 1m27s bracket now.
Lap 8: Webber is indeed told that Alonso may be saving his tyres, with the Australian looking set to go deep into the first stint on his mediums.
Lap 8: Senna drops to one second behind eighth-placed Webber, with Felipe Massa now beginning to mount an attack on his fellow-Brazilian.
Lap 7: Alonso is lapping around half a second slower than the leaders at the moment but may just be conserving his rubber.
Lap 7: Alonso has dropped 2.5 seconds behind Vettel in fifth, chased by Raikkonen, Webber, Senna and Massa.
Lap 6: Vettel is all over the rear of Button's McLaren but not making an impression on DRS for the moment.
Lap 6: Schumacher comes in and serves his drive-through penalty. He rejoins the race.
Lap 6: Grosjean responds to Hamilton's pace with his own fastest lap, with the Lotus pulling slightly clear of third place man Button.
Lap 5: Senna in eighth is holding onto the medium shod Webber easily in the opening stages. Massa is right with them in ninth, then a small gap developing to Hulkenberg.
Lap 5: Vettel was quick away and locked in that battle with Grosjean, before being taken by Button after the pair squabbled.
Lap 5: Glock has made a big mistake, allowing the HRT pair to get past him. Glock is now 23rd.
Lap 5: Replays of the start show a great launch for Hamilton, although he did brake a touch late for the first corner but the action was behind.
Lap 4: It goes from bad to worse for Schumacher. He has been handed a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pitlane.
Lap 4: Hamilton continues to stretch an advantage with the fastest lap, now clocked 2.3 seconds clear of Grosjean.
Lap 4: De la Rosa is 22nd, just ahead of team-mate Karthikeyan. Schumacher is last - 17 seconds behind the HRT pair.
Lap 4: DRS is now enabled, setting things up nicely for a battle between that leading pack.
Lap 4: Then comes Perez in 13th, di Resta 14th, Ricciardo 15th, Vergne 16th, Kovalainen 17th, Petrov 18th, Kobayashi 19th, Pic 20th and Glock 21st.
Lap 3: Hamilton streaks off into a 2.1 seconds lead, with Grosjean chased by Button, Vettel, Alonso, Raikkonen and Webber.
Lap 3: Behind the leading runners, Senna is eighth with Massa ninth, Hulkenberg 10th, Rosberg 11th and Maldonado in 12th.
Lap 3: Webber is all the way up to seventh on his medium compound tyres after a brilliant start from 11th on the grid.
Lap 2: Schumacher started from the pitlane, but is into the pits at the end of the first lap. He takes on medium tyres and rejoins miles behind.
Lap 2: Raikkonen is sixth in his Lotus and reporting KERS problems.
Lap 2: Hamilton leads by a 1.4 second margin over Grosjean.
Lap 2: Vettel was challenging Grosjean in the opening corners but was punished by Button making a forceful move on the Red Bull at Turn 3.
Lap 1: Webber is up from 11th to seventh on the medium compound tyres and we're not even done with the first lap.
Lap 1: Around the back of the circuit for the first time it is Hamilton from Grosjean, Button and Vettel.
