Lap 13: Hamilton makes a mistake out of the chicane, letting Webber through before the McLaren man fights back into the lead at the first corner!
Lap 13: Karun Chandhok has been into the pits from 23rd position. He rejoins at the rear of the pack.
Lap 13: Rosberg tried to close the door but it was just too late as Massa sets off to chase down the delayed Vettel.
Lap 12: Massa tires Alonso's move on Rosberg into the first corner and finally makes it stick to take away fifth place.
Lap 12: Buemi has also been into the pits after that incident to get the Toro Rosso checked, but has since rejoined.
Lap 12: The Renault then smashed into the braking marker boards and the German has retired with front end damage.
Lap 12: Heidfeld was on the outside and Buemi eased across to take the racing line for the chicane. The pair made side-to-side heavy contact.
Lap 12: Hamilton's lead is now 0.7 seconds and the McLaren man is told to look after his tyres.
Lap 12: Heidfeld has suffered contact at the NGK chicane. He had been fighting with Buemi for 16th.
Lap 11: Vettel's tyres can't be in good condition now after sliding across the run-off and he may be forced to pit earlier than planned.
Lap 11: Perez is now nine seconds behind a three-car scrap for 21st between d'Ambrosio, Ricciardo and Chandhok.
Lap 11: Replays show a huge spin for Vettel after he clipped the wet grass at the side of the circuit. That's an uncharacteristic mistake.
Lap 11: Perez is back out after that early stop, but he has fallen to the rear of the field.
Lap 10: Race control reports Vettel has been off track at Turn 10 and he as tumbled back to just ahead of Rosberg and Massa.
Lap 10: Paul di Resta has passed Kovalainen for 17th position with a neat move up the inside at the NGK chicane.
Lap 10: The lead gap is pegged at around a second between Hamilton and Webber.
Lap 9: Sergio Perez has been slightly off-track. He lost nine seconds in the middle sector and drops to 19th.
Lap 9: A fine overtake from Alonso, who now sets off to chase down the other Red Bull of Webber.
Lap 9: Kobayashi has now pulled himself up to the Petrov-Button fight, making it a three-car scrap for ninth.
Lap 8: Meanwhile Alonso shows how it is done with a bold move down the inside of Vettel into Turn 1, putting the Ferrari up to third.
Lap 8: Massa continues to put the DRS pressure on Rosberg but is still struggling to make it stick.
Lap 8: Heidfeld is also now through on Kovalainen and takes 17th place. Di Resta will be the next man knocking at the Finn's door.
Lap 7: Behind the scrap between Rosberg and Massa, Sutil is seventh with Schumacher now closing on his countryman.
Lap 7: Hamilton's lead is down to a second as Webber continues with his strong race pace.
Lap 7: Petrov in ninth has begun to pick up the pace after a difficult couple of laps. Button is still tucked up behind him.
Lap 7: Teams are told by forecasters Meteo France that no rain is expected in the next 30 minutes.
Lap 6: Webber closes to 1.2 seconds off leader Hamilton, while Alonso is now right on the tail of Vettel again.
Lap 6: Buemi passes Kovalainen for 16th position, leaving the Finn to fend off Heidfeld's attack.
Lap 6: Massa tries the DRS move on Rosberg but he can't make it stick around the outside into the chicane.
Lap 6: Di Resta is up to 20th place, having passed Liuzzi, d'Ambrosio, Ricciardo and Chandhok.
Lap 5: Heidfeld is also steaming up through the field after being compromised on the first lap. He is 18th and 2.7s behind Buemi.
Lap 5: Webber is beginning to match Hamilton on pace up front, with just under two seconds between them.
Lap 5: Schumacher is now closing down the gap to Sutil, while behind him Petrov's pace is already falling in ninth.
Lap 5: Massa is encouraged to pass Rosberg to prevent his race being "ruined."
Lap 4: Alonso repeats his mistake of running wide at Turn 3, dropping away from the Red Bull pair.
Lap 4: It was also a typically aggressive getaway from Alonso, who barged his way between the Red Bulls for an early third place.
Lap 4: Button is now on the tail of Petrov's Renault as a battle shapes up for ninth.
Lap 4: Replays show a poor start from Webber, allowing Hamilton an easy launch into the lead at the first corner.
