Only Kvyat is on track now, logging some fairly consistent 1m22s laps on the C2.
Verstappen's run concludes after eight 1m19s laps on the trot.
Following on from Hamilton's 1m18s-heavy run, Verstappen's done four 1m19s to begin his current C2 stint.
Ricciardo returns to the pits after a decent run on C2s. His last few laps were: 1m18.838s, 1m19.137s, 1m20.446s, 1m20.503s, 1m20.062s, 1m20.846s.
Latifi moves up to 12th place on the C3 tyre, getting ahead of Kubica - the very driver he's replaced at Williams.
Hamilton returns to the pits after a C2 run during which he posted seven 1m18s in an eight-lap stretch. He then immediately heads back out on track.

Williams will take a lot of encouragement from its showing so far today - not least by being ready for the very start of this morning's session. As JONATHAN NOBLE explains, that's a major step in the right direction after its troubles last season.

Kvyat improves to a 1m17.698s on what appear to be C2s. That moves him to fourth place, just 0.720s off pace-setter Hamilton.

Sainz has joined Verstappen in the 130-lap club on what has been a proper day's work for McLaren. Meanwhile, Leclerc ticks over the 100-lap mark in the Ferrari, the third driver to do so today.

No, it's not the new Racing Point painted silver. It's the man currently top of the time-sheets.

Bad news for fans of the Ferrari F2004's lap records at Albert Park, Bahrain and Monza: Renault's Esteban Ocon has had his say on the 2020 cars, and reckons that this year's crop have more grip than any before it. He also added that "We're going to probably break all the records of lap times this year." Sounds ominous...

Stopwatch
Hamilton now goes quicker still, doing a 1m16.978s on a set of C2 tyres.

Over the lunch break, George Russell had his say on the new Williams. Suffice to say, it's a lot better than last year.

Leclerc is now out of his garage and back on the track. Less reason to be worried for Ferrari fans, presumably.
We've not seen much from Ferrari this afternoon. The SF1000 has spent a long time sat in the garage - or if you're feeling less lah-di-dah, the car-hole this afternoon.
Hamilton's into the pits after a couple of practice starts, and gives a pop-up cone a bit of a boot before returning to his garage.

Sainz is rather enjoying his long runs on the harder compounds, and the Spanish driver has pitted, bolted on a fresh set, and gone out again. He's now on lap no. 111.
Daniil Kvyat returns to the circuit in his white-and-navy AlphaTauri, equipped with C2 tyres. Although I see four, not just two...

While we're imagining one Arrows, Ricciardo's Renault and its all-black scheme reminds us of another - this time from 1998.
Hamilton has been for a new set of Pirelli C3 boots. In total, the Mercedes lads have turned in 116 laps - just two shy of Verstappen's current total.

When looking at the rather fetching new Williams livery, one was put in mind of another - namely, Damon Hill's Arrows from 1997. Anyone else?
Daniel Ricciardo is now on track, pumping in some laps on a set of C3 tyres. His new purple lid is a rather lovely tribute to Kobe Bryant.
Sainz logs his 100th lap of the day - that's the equivalent of one-and-a-third Spanish Grand Prix. Usually, just the one is too much to handle.
Crash
Verstappen's had his second spin at the final chicane of the afternoon. No damage, just a chastened drive back into the pits.
With Perez still third we'd say that the Mercedes still occupy the top three positions, but we might get into trouble...
Stopwatch
And that's Hamilton to the top of the timing boards, clocking in a 1m17.293s on his C3 (medium) tyres - 0.02s faster than Bottas.
More action on the circuit now; Hamilton, Verstappen, Stroll, Latifi and Giovinazzi are all on the circuit. Hamilton's on a hot lap...
Magnussen is currently circulating in the 1m20s on a set of C3s, as Sainz is on unspecified hard tyres perambulating in the 1m22s. Meanwhile, Verstappen's gone out to do some bits and pieces on-track.
I'm sure we moaned about this last year, but wouldn't it be nice if the C1 and C5 tyres were just a little bit different? You can see the stripe - or lack thereof - when the cars are stationary, but when running? Good luck.
After his seemingly boundless running on the C1 tyre, Sainz makes a pitstop for fresh rubber. It's a set of one of the hard tyres, we don't know which yet...
Not a huge amount going on this afternoon, as the drivers stifle lunch-y burps and get a bit more mileage on the odometer. Max Verstappen has the most laps thus far, having done 111 tours of the circuit. Yikes.
So hello, it's me - your friendly technical editor - taking over the keys for the next hour of live comms. My first order of business is to put out a rallying call to all those at Barcelona - if anyone could sort me out with an espresso, that'd be absolutely lovely. It's been a long day.
Sainz is on an insanely consistent run, logging a boatload of times all within the 1m23s. Why so slow? He's on the C1 tyres, which are as hard as granite and just about as grippy.
Stroll moves up another notch now, getting ahead of Latifi for 12th place.
Kvyat improves on C2s, leapfrogging Leclerc and Kubica to take eighth place.
First laptime in from Lance Stroll, who's taken over for Perez for the afternoon. It's a 1m19.964s on C2s to take him to 13th place, a tenth up on Giovinazzi.
