Rally Scotland revises ticket policy

For the first two years of Britain's Intercontinental Rally Challenge, the organisers of the event have employed the same advance ticket sales policy as is used on Rally GB, but for October it's all change as tickets are sold on the gate - or car park entrance.

Event chief Andrew Coe said: "'Pay on the gate' represents a new approach for us but, having listened hard to the Scottish rallying community and the fans who flock to the event, we are confident this represents a simplified and much more effective ticketing strategy for Rally of Scotland."

Spectators will now pay £20 per car for a stage which is used twice, which includes re-admission to the same car park for the second running of the test. The Carron Valley test, which is used once on Sunday morning costs £10.

Coe added: "This is even better value for money - four people per vehicle equals just £5 per person to see some of the world's very finest rally drivers and cars in flat-out action on what are, given the truly stunning surrounding countryside in Stirlingshire and Perthshire, some of the world's most spectacular stages."

The penultimate round of this year's IRC starts from Stirling Castle on Friday October 7.
