Monte live TV coverage increased
Eurosport has upped its commitment to running live television stages on next year's Monte Carlo Rally - with 14 stages being shown
After covering three Monte Carlo stages - two of them twice - live this season, Eurosport always intended to ramp up its effort for next year, and now it will cover all but one of the stages on the opening round of the 2010 IRC.
Last year's four hours of live broadcasting has been increased to 14 hours across the event's three days for next January.
Satellite viewers around Europe will be able to watch all of Wednesday's stages - including the longest stage of the rally, St Pierreville-Antraigues (45km). All six Ardeche tests are live on Thursday as are the final four in the Alpes Maritimes on Friday. This final loop will be run entirely in the dark and include two runs over the Col de Turini.
Geraldine Filiol, managing director of Eurosport Events, said: "We are naturally proud to open the IRC season in 2010 again with the Monte Carlo Rally and I am sure that our ambitious plans are worthy of a mythical motorsport event like this.
"What viewers can look forward to is witnessing the story of the Monte Carlo Rally unfold live over the three days of the event. This pioneering development is set to bring the sport to new standards of TV coverage."
