Meeke moves into second at Barum
IRC series leader Kris Meeke has moved into second position on the Barum Rally - but the Peugeot-driving Briton remains more than a minute behind rally leader Jan Kopecky
Meeke benefited from the retirement of his fellow 207 S2000 driver Freddy Loix on the opening Sunday stage. Loix's potential big points haul went south when he suffered a puncture and was forced to stop due to the damage from the flailing rubber.
Sensing the potential for a Skoda one-two on its home event, the Czech Republic firm redoubled its efforts on SS11, today's second test. Kopecky was quickest with his third-placed team-mate Juho Hanninen second fastest to take five seconds out of Meeke.
The Northern Irishman, who has won three rounds of the IRC this season, hit back with fastest time in SS12 to maintain his gap over Hanninen at 20 seconds.
Roman Kresta and Martin Prokop were fourth and fifth in their Peugeots, with the sole remaining Abarth of Luca Rossetti sixth in the drying conditions on the stages around Zlin.
Following service, the crews will tackle a repeat of this morning's three stages before the finish at 16:00 local time.
