Kris Meeke set the fastest time of today's shakedown for Rally de Curitiba, which begins tomorrow in Campina Grande do Sul.
The Briton set a time of 2:24.3 in his Peugeot on the short gravel stage, just two tenths of a second quicker than Anton Alen's Abarth.
Meeke says he is looking forward to the first stage on Friday morning and is eager to make up for his Monte Carlo disappointment, where he crashed out.
"I feel really fired up about this rally," he said. "In Monte Carlo I was caught out by a bit of inexperience, but here should be more of a level playing field. I'm just looking forward to getting out there and showing what I can do.
"It looks like an absolutely fantastic rally," said Meeke. "There are some really quick bits, some exciting crests; a few slower sections: a bit of everything really, which makes it a real test.
"Some places remind me of New Zealand and some places remind me of Finland. There's also a bit of Argentina in there, but with harder surfaces. I really like it. The only thing I hope is that it doesn't rain, otherwise the surfaces will just turn into a monsoon."
Freddy Loix was third fastest on the shakedown stage, with his Peugeot teammate Nicolas Vouilloz fourth and Giandomenico Basso's Abarth fifth.
