Nasser Al-Attiyah held a four-minute lead in the overall Dakar Rally standings after Stage 8, but he has since slipped to third following navigation issues at the next event.
The Dacia driver finished a lowly 12th, 12 minutes behind winner Eryck Goczal, in Stage 9 meaning Ford star Nani Roma has assumed the overall lead.
He holds a 57-second lead over team-mate Carlos Sainz Sr in a Ford 1-2, while Al-Attiyah is 1m10s off top following what could be the decisive stage of Dakar 2026.
