The competitive action at the 2026 Dakar Rally has begun with X-raid Mini’s Guillaume de Mevius leading the way.
Ford’s Mattias Ekstrom controlled much of the day’s 305km stage around Yanbu in Saudi Arabia, but de Mevius battled back late on to take a surprise win by 40s, marking Mini’s second opening-stage win in two years.
