The 2026 Dakar Rally got under way on Saturday with the Prologue, which took place over 95km – only 22km of which was timed – in the Saudi Arabian port city of Yanbu.
Mattias Ekstrom led Mitch Guthrie for a Ford 1-2, followed by Mini's Guillaume de Mevius, Dacia's Nasser Al-Attiyah and Toyota's Seth Quintero.
