Muller lost for words after Brands Hatch win
Brands Hatch sprint winner Yvan Muller was celebrating after his first BTCC victory
The Vauxhall Vectra driver performed a superb overtaking manoeuvre to win the 25-lap race at the newly revised Kent circuit.
Afterwards he commented' 'I cannot put into words how happy I am with winning. It gives us something to work on because we have not yet got the full potential from the car.
'We now need to build on this and I think there are more wins to come for us this year. We need to keep improving, but this result is fantastic.'
Muller won after he took advantage of Laurent Aiello's attempted pass on Anthony Reid eight laps from the finish and dived inside, the trio going into the plunging Paddock Hill bend three abreast.
Muller held his nerve on the tighter inside line, came out in front and never looked back.
'It is very difficult to overtake at Brands Hatch and in the BTCC with the calibre of drivers we have,' said Muller, 'so it was very exciting to be able to make a move like that to take the lead.'
