Weekend review and results round-up

It hadn't been much of a win drought for Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing - a mere three races - but the Spa result was still a welcome boost, especially given the tyre concerns that became the dominant story of the weekend, with Pirelli and Red Bull at odds over the blisters that developed in qualifying

The race was another epic affair, highlighted by stunning passes like Mark Webber's bold move around the outside of Fernando Alonso into Eau Rouge, a moment that underlined how wise Red Bull was being in holding on to the Australian for 2012, the deal having been announced on Saturday morning.

Another driver decision was the big news of the race build-up, as Renault dramatically ditched Nick Heidfeld in favour of Bruno Senna, although the German is not giving up on the seat without a fight.

Romain Grosjean was also rumoured to be in the Renault mix, though after clinching the GP2 title in Saturday's race, he insisted his priority was getting a full-time Formula 1 seat for 2012 rather than repeating his unhappy late-2009 experience.

Along with Grosjean's coronation, the headline event in the Spa support races was Richie Stanaway's arrival in GP3, as ART's new recruit won race two on his debut weekend in the series.

In America, the IndyCar title battle closed up as Will Power won at Sears Point, and Brad Keselowski underlined his status as NASCAR's rising star by triumphing at Bristol.
