Red Bull 'not disappointed at all' that 2013 F1 title still open

Red Bull says it does not feel a shred of disappointment over not wrapping up the 2013 Formula 1 world championship at its first opportunity in the Japanese Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel's victory at Suzuka would have been enough to clinch the crown if rival Fernando Alonso had finished lower than eighth.

But Alonso's fourth place means that Vettel must now wait until at least the next race in India before he can wrap up the title.

Mark Hughes' in-depth Japanese GP report

Red Bull boss Christian Horner said all the team's attention was on winning the race rather than the championship situation. It took a one-two with Vettel and Mark Webber.

"We went there to try to win the race, and the championships will take care of themselves," he said.

"We will go to India and will attack that weekend as we have in Japan. If we score more points than the others, we will win the championship.

"But there is no disappointment at all with any single member of this team."

With Vettel having won the last five consecutive grands prix, Horner has not ruled out seeing out the campaign with four more wins for the German - although says he would like to see Webber take a final F1 career victory.

Red Bull's conspiracy to win

"Seb has won every race since the summer break which is an incredible achievement," he said.

"There are still four races to go and our target is to try to carry this momentum into those last races.

"I don't think any of us could have imagined that he would have had the run of success that he has, and the way he is driving at the moment is quite supreme.

"India is a different challenge, as is Abu Dhabi.

"Mark got pretty close in Japan. It would be great to see Mark win a race before the end of the year as well."

HOW VETTEL CAN CLINCH THE TITLE IN INDIA

Vettel currently leads Alonso by 90 points.

Vettel will become champion if he places fifth or better in India.

Alonso's gap to Vettel after India must be 74 points or less for the championship to continue to Abu Dhabi.
