Hamilton's continuing to flex his muscles out there, going a good chunk faster in sectors one and two - before slowing it down for the final sector.
Ricciardo goes a smidgen faster on that one, logging a lap in the 1m17s on a set of C2s.
Information
There's 30 minutes remaining.
One thing we've seen today so far is seemingly bulletproof reliability. There were a few breakages in testing last year, but we've not experienced that today.
Leclerc's on the practice starts, it seems - he's not been time-chasing today, currently sitting in P11 overall.

Here's one final timing rundown before the end of the session:
1 Hamilton 1m16.976s

Mercedes has now surpassed Verstappen's 161 laps - the cumulative count of Hamilton and Bottas stands at 162. That seems ominous...

Ricciardo has managed the fewest laps of those to have taken to the track so far, which is a shame because his new purple lid is a sight to behold. We approve.

Haas is the only team yet to surpass the 100 lap mark - which is ever so slightly annoying.
Latifi and Giovinazzi join Kvyat and Leclerc on-track for the final 15 minutes. There's not a whole bundle of things happening out there...
Leclerc comes in for some used C2s, as we drift towards the dying stages of the session. The left-front was a bit sparky when the wheelgun was applied which, if nothing else, looked cool.
The current laps are all much-of-a-muchness, flitting between the 1m21s and 1m22s. Hamilton's in the 1m18s on quite a consistent basis, which seems like a lower-fuel race-run time.
Haas in Magnussen's hands has now also surpassed the 100-lap mark, so that makes it 10 teams out of 10. Looks like they'll all cope just fine with the reduction in testing.
Checkered flag
Chequered flag. The opening day of F1 testing for 2020 ends in a Mercedes 1-2, led by Lewis Hamilton.
The whole field bar Giovinazzi - who didn't appear to do any single-lap runs - is covered by 1.5 seconds.

The sun sets on day one of testing. We think the photographers have earned their money today.

Cheer up Toto, has anybody told you Mercedes are 1-2?

So Lewis Hamilton topped the times on day one of testing - which appears to give credence to James Allison's explanation last week that Mercedes wouldn't be pulling a repeat of its 2019 hoodwink on the field by revealing an all-new car in week two. We'll have today's testing wrap coming shortly, along with news and reaction from the paddock.
Autosport
As promised, here's our testing day one wrap, as Lewis Hamilton leads Mercedes' charge and Racing Point show well with its copy of last year's Merc W10.
