Kevin Magnussen wins second British F3 race at Spa for Carlin
Kevin Magnussen claimed his fourth win of the British Formula 3 season by dominating the reversed grid race at Spa
Much like race one winner Roberto Merhi, Magnussen converted pole into an immediate lead with a strong start and stretched out an early lead with some rapid initial laps.
Magnussen was followed home by his Carlin team-mate Rupert Svendsen-Cook and Merhi's fast-starting Prema Powerteam team-mate Daniel Juncadella.
Juncadella rose from eighth on the grid to head Svendsen-Cook on the first lap, before the Brit fought back and reclaimed the place.
He chased hard after Magnussen with Juncadella in tow, but finished 2.6 seconds adrift after eight laps of racing.
Fourth placed Hannes van Asseldonk was the star of this race. The German F3 regular started 12th, but climbed to eighth on the opening lap, as race one winner Merhi (seventh on the grid) and Carlin's Jazeman Jaafar (who started fifth) tumbled down the order after appearing to tangle at Les Combes.
The Dutchman then worked his way past British F3 championship leader Felipe Nasr (Carlin) and Signature team-mates Carlos Munoz and Marco Wittmann, before finishing just 0.8s adrift of the podium.
Signature's Laurens Vanthoor completed a strong drive from 17th on the grid by further demoting Nasr on the penultimate lap to finish seventh, while Fortec's Will Buller and Carlin's Carlos Huertas looked set to round out the top 10, but both were jumped by Signature's Daniel Abt on the final lap.
