Weekend review and results round-up

Sebastien Ogier kept himself in contention for the 2011 World Rally Championship title with a canny win on last weekend's Acropolis Rally, defeating his team-mate Sebastien Loeb by forcing the champion to run first on the road on day three

In America, the IndyCar Series made a very welcome return to the Milwaukee Mile, where Dario Franchitti fended off strong challenges from Helio Castroneves and Tony Kanaan to win, while in stock cars, Denny Hamlin delivered his first NASCAR Sprint Cup triumph of the season at Michigan.

All the major touring car championships were in action too, with the most notable result coming in the DTM at Lausitz, where Martin Tomczyk's second win in succession gave the old-spec Audi man a surprise points lead.

The best of the single-seater action was provided by Formula Renault 3.5 at a wet/dry Nurburgring. Robert Wickens narrowly defeated Daniel Ricciardo in a Saturday thriller, before rising young star Kevin Korjus used a wise strategy to recover from 22nd to win after a first-corner spin.
