Nasr dominates wet race three

The Brazilian Carlin driver started third, but leapt straight into second as Sino Visions Adderly Fong was slow away from second on the grid.

Nasr then harried his polesitting team-mate Rupert Svendsen-Cook, before diving through to take the lead at Graham Hill bend on lap seven of 26.

He had already pulled out a 3.1-second advantage when a collision between Pipo Derani (Double R) and Max Snegirev (Hitech) at Graham Hill brought out the safety car and erased Nasr's lead.

Nasr bolted at the restart, while Svendsen-Cook struggled to fend off Hitech's Pietro Fantin, who jumped from seventh to fifth on the opening lap and found himself third once Fong and Fortec's Lucas Foresti had both taken a trip through the gravel.

With the restart out the way, Nasr romped home to win by a mammoth 24.5s margin.

The battle for second came to a head at Paddock Hill bend with four laps to run. Fantin tried to drive around the outside of Svendsen-Cook and the two came together at the exit - briefly leaving both cars broadside at either side of the circuit.

Fantin recovered to 10th, while Svendsen-Cook retired to the pits minus his rear wing. Recovering from his earlier excursion at Clearways and another moment late-on, race one winner Foresti thus came through to finish second, ahead of team-mate Will Buller.

Carlin trio Jazeman Jaafar, Carlos Huertas and Jack Harvey (having his best run in the category so far) completed the top six, with Hywel Lloyd (Sino Vision), Scott Pye (Double R), Harry Tincknell (Fortec), and Fantin rounding out the top 10.

Carlin's Kevin Magnussen twice changed tyres after being forced into the pits early on with a damaged front end. He finished a lapped 15th, but took the bonus point for fastest lap.

Hitech's Kotaro Sakurai set the pace in the Rookie Class, but lost out to T-Sport's Bart Hylkema by a couple of seconds at the flag.
