Nasr switches to Carlin for 2011

Felipe Nasr will switch from Double R to rival squad Carlin for a return to British Formula 3 in 2011

The 18-year-old Brazilian is managed by David and Steve Robertson who, along with 2007 Formula 1 world champion Kimi Raikkonen, recently sold their stake in Double R to team principle Anthony Hieatt.

The 2009 Formula BMW Europe champion will now join Carlin's six-car British F3 line-up.

"I am very excited to be racing in British F3 again next season, especially with Carlin who are clearly the team to beat," said Nasr, who finished fifth in the championship as a rookie this year. "I learnt a lot this season and I want to build on that and put together a strong championship campaign."

Nasr will test for his new team in Valencia later this month. He will race alongside former Double R team-mate Carlos Huertas, Dane Kevin Magnussen (son of 1994 British F3 champ Jan), RSF-backed FBMW graduate Jack Harvey, and series returnee Rupert Svendsen-Cook at Trevor Carlin's outfit, which has run the last three British F3 champions. The team is expected to announce its final 2011 driver shortly.

"We've watched Felipe with a lot of interest and have been very impressed with his raw talent in his first year of F3," said Carlin. "We've very pleased to have him in our team and look forward to seeing what he can achieve."
