Baguette joins IndyCar with Conquest
Bertrand Baguette has joined Conquest Racing for this year's IndyCar Series
The 24-year-old Belgian, who won last year's Formula Renault 3.5 title, will make his debut in the third round of the championship at Barber Motorsports Park on April 11.
Baguette, who has tested for the Renault and BMW Sauber F1 teams, will join fellow former FR3.5 racer Mario Romancini at Conquest, which will run both cars for the remainder of the season.
"I've always been attracted to racing in America," said Baguette. "American open-wheel racing has a rich heritage and is a fantastic opportunity for me.
"I am looking forward to the 15 races this year. I will carry the yellow colour of the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium's National Team with pride, especially during the legendary Indianapolis 500."
Conquest boss Eric Bachelart added: "I am completely confident in the capacities of Bertrand to quickly adapt to IndyCar. Because of his ability to adapt well to new formula, I am confident he will learn the art of oval racing relatively quickly."
Baguette will attend this weekend's IndyCar round in St Petersburg to familiarise himself with the Conquest team.
