CytoSport to do full ALMS season
CytoSport has announced it will contest the full American Le Mans Series with its Porsche prototype this year
Team owner Greg Pickett will again share the car with Klaus Graf. CytoSport joined the ALMS halfway through the 2009 season and was immediately among the LMP2 frontrunners, with Graf setting a class lap record at Road Atlanta during an impressive drive at Petit Le Mans.
With the prototype classes combined into a single LMP division in the 2010 ALMS, Pickett is hoping to challenge for outright wins.
"We're really excited to be taking on our first full season of American Le Mans Series competition," he said.
"I'm so proud of what we've accomplished with our team so far and it's very encouraging for us heading into 2010. We know that it will be a new challenge for us in the combined LMP class but it's one we can't wait to face."
Graf hopes CytoSport, which will receive assistance from the Porsche factory, can maintain its late-2009 momentum into its first full ALMS campaign.
"After our successful start in 2009 with four podium finishes in four races you would think this would be a natural progression to compete again in 2010," he said. "But I know that a programme like ours requires a big commitment from all parties involved."
