Colombian racer Carlos Munoz will join Mucke Motorsport in the 2010 Formula 3 Euro Series.
The 17-year-old is set to compete for the German squad - which finished second in the championship in 2009 with Christian Vietoris - joining the team's roster of drivers that already includes Spaniard Roberto Merhi.
Munoz graduates to Formula 3 after completing two years in the Formula Renault Eurocup, where he finished eighth in the championship in 2009 driving for Epsilon Euskadi. He also competed in the Formula Renault WEC, finishing seventh in the standings.
"I'm happy to join Mucke Motorsport," said Munoz. "The team has been one of the top squads in the Euro Series for the past few years and they are determined to be the best in 2010."
The Colombian enjoyed some F3 experience in 2009, competing twice in the Spanish series and scoring podium finishes both at Spa Francorchamps and Jerez. He follows a similar route into the Euro Series to that of team-mate Merhi, with whom he has already competed in the past.
"We've followed a similar path in the past and I know Roberto very well," said Munoz. "He's very quick and in recent tests I've been able to set some competitive times having him as a benchmark. I hope that together we can help push Mucke in order to beat ART next year."
Munoz, who turns 18 in January, is set to be one of the youngest drivers in the Euro Series field next year.
