Comtec sign Russian Nebylitskiy

Comtec Racing have signed 19-year-old Russian Anton Nebylitskiy to their Formula Renault 3.5 team for the 2009 season

Nebylitskiy tested with the former champions at Paul Ricard last November, where he also sampled machinery from Pons and Tech 1 Racing before agreeing to another test with Comtec in Valencia.

He finished seventh in last year's Formula Renault West European Cup and is looking forward to making the step up to the World Series.

"Having spent the last two seasons racing in the Formula Renault, and having learnt the European circuits, it makes sense for my career to carry on and keep involved in the package by joining the 3.5 World Series in 2009," said Nebylitskiy.

"I couldn't have asked for a better start by joining one of the main teams in Comtec Racing, and fully intend to grasp this fantastic opportunity with both hands."

Comtec sporting director Marin Donnelly added: "We are more of less viewing this as a two year deal. Anton knows he has his job to do to get up to speed quickly, but he's lucky that he knows most of the circuits from his Formula Renault 2.0 experience, and he knows the team."
