Kobayashi to race for DAMS
Toyota test driver Kamui Kobayashi has signed to race for the DAMS team in GP2 next year
The Japanese, who was a front-runner in the Formula Three Euro Series this year, has already tested for DAMS in post-season testing.
"I am excited to race in GP2 with DAMS," he said. "We have already worked together in Jerez and Paul Ricard to build up the relation, and they have tried various set ups to find out my style.
"It will be a busy season for me since Asia series will start soon, and main series testing will be starting when the Asia series is on. Having said this, I would like to welcome these kinds of challenges."
DAMS ran Williams-bound Toyota young driver Kazuki Nakajima last year and team boss Jean-Paul Driot is pleased to continue his association with the Japanese car manufacturer.
"It is a pleasure and a great honour to continue with Toyota Drivers Program (TDP) for the third season," he explained. "We really did enjoy a great year sportingly and humanly, with the move up to Formula One of Kazuki Nakajima."
