Rydell rejoins SEAT for Macau
SEAT have recalled former driver Rickard Rydell to bolster their title attack in the deciding rounds of the World Touring Car Championship at Macau next month
After three years with SEAT, Rydell was dropped at the end of last season, but took victory on a one-off appearance for Chevrolet at Anderstorp in July.
Rydell is a former winner of the Macau Formula Three Grand Prix, and was one of the nine drivers who arrived at last year's race with a shot at the WTCC title.
"I'm really looking forward to joining the SEAT Sport team for the race in Macau," Rydell said.
"I feel right at home with SEAT and it'll be good to work with them again. My main goals of course are to support the team to win the manufacturers' championship and Yvan Muller in the drivers'.
"Macau has always been one of my favourites because I like urban tracks, and coming back to one that saw me win an F3 race brings back fond memories."
SEAT's Yvan Muller currently shares the drivers' points lead with reigning champion Andy Priaulx, while the team trail BMW by 10 points in the manufacturers' contest.
