Felipe Massa is planning to give no space to McLaren rival Lewis Hamilton at the start of tomorrow's Bahrain Grand Prix

The Brazilian Ferrari driver starts from pole position from the second race in a row, hoping that he can redeem himself from the disappointment of the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Massa also started from pole in Sepang, but lost out to Hamilton at the start and then made a mistake when trying to overtake him.

The Ferrari driver went off track and dropped down to fifth place, where he stayed until the end.

Now the Brazilian reckons he knows what to do tomorrow.

"I think he made a good start but we also gave him space, so this time we know what he can do - so we won't give him the space any more," said Massa after qualifying.

Although Ferrari arrived in Malaysia as favourites, it was McLaren who dominated the race, with Fernando Alonso leading Hamilton home for the team's first victory since 2005.

Massa is hopeful there will be no repeat of that tomorrow.

"Last Sunday was not an easy day for us," he added. "McLaren showed incredible pace in the race, we did not show our pace as we were always blocked by other cars; our pace was better than we showed although it was difficult, and McLaren were very, very strong.

"Today we were competitive on old tyres so I hope we can show a much better pace tomorrow than we had in Malaysia."
