Spyker lodge protest against Super Aguri

Spyker have pressed ahead with plans to lodge a customer car protest, autosport.com can reveal, but only against Super Aguri

Although it was thought earlier today that a protest over the matter would be delayed until tomorrow, sources have revealed that the team decided to go ahead with the complaint.

Spyker boss Colin Kolles has refused to confirm the news, but it is understood that Super Aguri only have been singled out for complaint.

Super Aguri's Takuma Sato qualified 10th for the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.

It is understood that the protest is related to articles 2.1, 2.2 and 6.3 of the F1 sporting regulations.

Article 6.3 of the sporting regulations states: "The constructor of an engine or rolling chassis is the person (including any corporate or unincorporated body) which owns the intellectual property rights to such engine or chassis.

"The make of an engine or chassis is the name attributed to it by its constructor. If the make of the chassis is not the same as that of the engine, the title will be awarded to the former which shall always precede the latter in the name of the car."
