Biaggi says MF1 test was a one-off

Former MotoGP rider Max Biaggi says his test with the MF1 Racing Formula One team was just a one-off and that it has nothing to do with future plans

"No, this has been an opportunity which I took with both hands," said Biaggi when asked if Formula One was his new love.

"It had been programmed since October, and it has nothing to do with the other ongoing talks I have. So why not make the most of it.

"If you see me testing an F1 car again, then I suggest you get worried. It won't just be a one off anymore. If I don't test it anymore, then it means that what boils in my blood, the bike, prevailed," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian rider, whose future is still in the balance after being left without a ride in MotoGP, took to the Silverstone circuit in poor weather conditions in what was his first taste of a Formula One car since he tested for Ferrari seven years ago.

"I didn't make any mistakes," Biaggi added. "I tried to be like a good test driver on a new circuit, a flooded one, and with some 750 horsepower behind my back. There was no point in showing off.

"Did I enjoy myself? Yes, and I still have some adrenaline on me, because when you release all that power the car has to be driven: it never goes totally straight.

"It was an important test, already on a 2006 car with a V8 engine: all brand new and lively, like me. I took part in a meeting with the technicians. For this once I didn't keep up with my reputation for being a pain in the neck, so I just listened."

Despite claiming the Midland test was a one-off, Biaggi admitted he is considering all possibilities for his future, including switching to car racing.

"All the possibilities are still open, both on two and four wheels," he said. "Time is very short, but it isn't the first time for me, so that's why I'm forced to promise a definitive announcement by the end of the week, or at most by the middle of next week. You can't go beyond that in order to face a new adventure in a professional way."
