Yas Marina Circuit experience boosts F1R Fan Village at British GP

The final round of the 2017 Formula 1 World Championship may be some months away but fans will be able to enjoy the biggest and best ever F1 Racing Fan Village at Silverstone this weekend thanks to Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit

Autosport Media, a division of Motorsport Network, will partner with Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit, home of the 2017 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, to present the fan event which features branding from the group's premier print publication - F1 Racing Magazine.

Now in its fifth year, the partnership will bring Yas Marina Circuit to life across all of Motorsport Network's platforms, from digital to print media, social media channels and television, and in live form at the hugely popular F1 Racing Fan Village. This year more than 15,000 fans are expected to experience the activation.

Running from Thursday afternoon until Sunday night in the grounds of the five-star Whittlebury Hall Hotel, adjacent to the Silverstone Circuit, the F1 Racing Fan Village will engage race-goers with a series of interactive Formula 1 experiences and competitions.

Fans returning to Whittlebury can relax in deck chairs and the lounge area listening to the YAS Sunset Sessions, including sounds from the Calvin Harris's forthcoming set at this year's Abu Dhabi GP in November, or play on the over-sized Scalextric slot car set.

Refreshments include the Charity Donation Bar serving non-alcoholic Yas-themed drinks, while the Yas Cafe will serve coffees and pastries in the morning and ice lollies in the afternoon in a straw bale seating area that offers a cool music festival vibe.

"We're delighted to be teaming up with Yas Marina Circuit again for what promises to be the biggest and most enjoyable F1 Racing Fan Village ever," said F1 Racing Publishing Director, Stuart Williams.

"The British Grand Prix promises to be an epic battle but the fan village is where the most fun will be had. Bring on the action!"

As people leave the campsite on Sunday evening at Silverstone, a promotional team will hand out Yas postcards to drive fans online either during the long journey home or when they get there.

Fans can enter the ultimate holiday competition by logging into a dedicated Autosport.com page and answering a mix of questions on last-race showdowns, 'name that corner' and 'who's helmet is that?' picture rounds.

For Yas Marina Circuit, the campaign centres around the extraordinary travel prize provided by circuit partners Etihad Airways to the Abu Dhabi GP in November. The offer includes:

- Flights between London and Abu Dhabi
- Three nights' accommodation
- 2-Day Abu Dhabi Hill Tickets to the Grand Prix (Nov 25/26)
- Saturday & Sunday concert access
- Etihad pack - F1 limited edition cap, shirt and backpack
- Unlimited entry to Yas Waterworld & Ferrari World Abu Dhabi - over the Saturday & Sunday

Elsewhere in the fan village, F1 Racing has constructed a giant TV screen which will be showing highlights of the racing, alongside film screenings including acclaimed Nürburgring documentary The Green Hell. Evening events include live music and a motorsport quiz.

The activation is produced by F1 Racing Group Publishing Manager Sunita Davies in partnership with Yas Marina Circuit.

Autosport Media and F1 Racing Magazine last year became part of the world's largest independent automotive and motorsport-related digital platform, Motorsport Network.

Sites like Autosport.com, Motorsport.com and Motor1.com connect hundreds of millions of people that love motorsport and cars. F1 Racing is the world's biggest selling Formula One magazine, with 15 editions around the globe.
