Mosport United SportsCar: Taylor brothers beat Action Express

Ricky and Jordan Taylor scored their second victory of the Tudor United SportsCar Championship season in a tense finish at Mosport

Ricky Taylor led the race early on from pole position and built a two-second lead over Christian Fittipaldi.

He then struggled later in the stint with power steering issues, and had Fittipaldi, Michael Valiante and Scott Pruett all on his tail as the quartet battled through traffic.

Fittipaldi stole the lead on track before the Wayne Taylor Racing car then fell behind Valiante at the first pitstops when Jordan Taylor took over.

The lead quartet made those stops under the race's only caution, but Pruett's came just seconds after the pitlane closed when the yellow was initially called, earning the Chip Ganassi Racing car a penalty.

Eric Curran and John Pew had pitted earlier on under green flag conditions from fifth and sixth respectively to hand over to their team-mates Duncan Cameron and Ozz Negri, who then found themselves at the front at the restart.

With Cameron continuing to stop out of sequence, he built up a 15-second advantage over Joao Barbosa in the sister Action Express Racing car started by Fittipaldi, which had jumped Negri's Michael Shank Racing car during pitstops with an hour to go.

However, both Action Express cars were called to the pits inside the final quarter of an hour for a splash of fuel.

A slow stop in which the crew had difficulty getting the fuel hose into place meant that Cameron rejoined behind Jordan Taylor, who held on to win by just under half a second at the chequered flag.

Taylor got past the car of Valiante when Richard Westbrook took over with an hour to go and then overtook Negri's Ligier inside the final stint.

Negri and Westbrook completed the top four at the finish ahead of Barbosa and Ganassi's Joey Hand, who was a lap down after the car's penalty.

PC class leaders Jon Bennett and Colin Braun took their first victory of the season for CORE Autosport from third on the grid, benefiting from both of the front-row cars hitting trouble within the first 40 minutes.

Chris Cumming spun the second-placed RSR entry into a wall on the formation lap, while James French triggered the caution period when he stopped at the side of the track from the lead in his and Conor Daly's Performance Tech car.

John Falb survived an early spin to take second place with Sean Rayhall for BAR1 Motorsports with Mikhail Goikhberg and Matt McMurray third for JDC/Miller Motorsports.

Le Mans 24 Hours winner Nick Tandy claimed the factory Porsche squad's first win of the season in GT LM, leading from pole position with Patrick Pilet.

The BMWs of Dirk Werner/Bill Auberlen and Lucas Luhr/John Edwards held second and third for much of the race, but the latter car was beaten to the final podium spot in the closing stages by the lead Corvette of Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia.
