Wales Rally GB reveals 2015 World Rally Championship finale route

Wales Rally GB organisers have revealed the route for November's World Rally Championship finale

The November 12-15 event remains rooted in Deeside, but includes the return of classic stages such as Myherin and the Great Orme.

There is a new start venue for the third year in succession with Llandudno replacing Colwyn Bay, while the finish shifts to the service park to ensure there will be something to see in Deeside on all four days of the event.

The Dyfi and Gartheiniog stages revert to running on Saturday, meaning Friday November 13 is two loops of the southernmost woods in Hafren and Myherin - both of which run to their full length. Sweet Lamb is chopped out of Hafren and stands alone this year. A lunchtime tyre-fitting zone in Newtown splits the day's action.

Saturday is the longest leg, with three loops of stages, the last of which will be in the dark.

Following service at 5am, the cars run through Gartheniog and Dyfi twice with a regroup in Corris after the first time through.

Dyfnant, Aberhirnant and the event's only RallyFest stage at Chirk Castle are added second time through, bringing the cars back to Deeside.

Shortly after 4pm, the cars are back out for a second pass of Dyfnant and Aberhirnant, arriving back in service at 9pm, 16 hours after the day started.

Brenig is run twice on Sunday, the second shot representing the event's bonus-point powerstage. The two runs around the lakeside test are split by the tricky, all-asphalt headland Great Orme stage.

Kinmel Park and Clocaenog are missing from the 2015 route, the former replaced by the Orme and the latter unavailable due to wind farm developers, although part of the complex is still used on Thursday for shakedown.

The rally finishes back in Deeside at 1.44pm on Sunday.

Tickets went on sale on Wednesday (see walesrallygb.com), with the headline World Rally Pass - giving access to all stages - remaining at £99 for the sixth year.

Day passes, which gives access to all stages on any given day (expect Chirk Castle on Saturday) have been cut in price by 25 per cent from £33 to £25.

The on-the-day cost of individual stages has risen from £20 to £30.

Tickets to this year's only RallyFest stage, Chirk, remain at £25 per adult or £45 for a family ticket allowing two adults and up to three children access.

The start, service park and Newtown tyre fitting zone are all free.
